I used to do cheat days all the time but they were almost a way for me to justify binge eating so I’ve stopped them completely and instead spread all the “cheat” food over the course of the week allowing me to basically eat whatever I want and maintain my physique fairly easily.
@yaboicoach3 жыл бұрын
My approach is very similar and I don't use the term "cheat". I prefer to eat more calories 6 days of the week to stay fueled for workouts and only 1 day of the week with low calories to balance it out. Its also much easier to control a surplus or deficit with 1 day of suffering as opposed to 6 in my opinion. Its really difficult to track binge days when not measuring and they can go way beyond rough estimates [which is why most people can't understand why they not losing weight while dieting 6 days]. Also, I rarely get cravings for high calories foods. All comes down to lifestyle and temperament- do what works best for you :)

Seems more sensible approach to me..eating in excess one day, then punish yourself for the next several day seems insane.

@@scrogginssnapshots8916 dude I'm not looking at his video for any type of actual instruction, but that is what he's offering. If this is what makes him happy and isn't truly leading him to disordered eating, that's great. But sadly many many people out there would be super triggered to disordered eating by this. He's essentially punishing himself for having a cheat meal by eating less the next day. Again, he can do whatever he wants to himself. The simple fact is though with regards to KZbin is that there are people out there who watch these types of things and think to themselves "I should do this". Maybe he should disclaimer himself more? Maybe, it sure wouldn't hurt 🤷🏻♀️. And I can assure you I don't look to the internet for advice that is specific for myself.
@scrogginssnapshots89163 жыл бұрын
@@TheeSarahWood that is good to hear, and yes we agree on a lot of what you said. Everything I hear on KZbin does not get implemented into my daily life. In aspect to this video, its not something that I would personally do. I do enjoy hearing how others handle and do their lifestyle "hacks" compared to how I do mine. Fortunately I know enough to not follow every piece of advice I hear, with that being said I know that not everyone does know. Your correct he should probably state that this is what works for him personally and is just being transparent in what and how he does. My dad once told me "learn something from everyone, even if your learning what not to do... but never stop learning from others" I hope this message doesn't come across as being arrogant or rude, because that is not my intention.

@@scrogginssnapshots8916 oddly enough, he was only transparent recently, yet has been on trt since 2019. Where was this transparency when his channel became more recipe and anabolic diet centered. Yes he preaches daily exercise, calorie deficit, following the anabolic diet with recipes in his $100 cookbook. But the normal, average viewers isn’t doing trt, steroids, sarms cycles. And his video months ago about sarms says it didn’t cause him any known side effects. Well, that can be enticing comment to viewers who don’t do their own research and just follow his lead

I'm struggling a lot because of my cheat day once every two weeks. A day at the chinese buffet clocks in at around 5.000 calories. It's actually pretty bad but I really need those days once in a while. It's stupid and sometimes I even feel devastated when watching myself in the mirror the next day and seeing the number on my scale. Itelectually I know most of that stuff is just the pure weight from the food and stored water and not fat that's going to hang around forever. But getting back on track is so hard and the only thing I can do to make up for it is restricting my calories for the rest of the week to match my weekly average in the end. With and overall daily caloric intake of 2.200 calories this means to restrict myself a lot for a few days. I hope I can keep building muscle (training for less than a fews months overall, total newbie still) and upping my basal metabolic rate.
@ManiacFitness3 жыл бұрын
It's def not needed once in while. That's just an excuse for having a lack of discipline. I can understand having a buger and fries once in a while or a pizza but the Chinese buffet is t worst. It's full of fat an sodium and msg. That will mentally fuck you up as much as physically. The regret the shame the embarrassment of it and the bloating. Just stop you don't need that and it's def not deserved. You probably don't even go hard enough that your body is that depleted where you would need something like that unless you're literally a few days before stepping on stage. Not trying to be a dick just being real. Stop making excuses and if you want a certain result then do what it takes. You're the only thing getting in your way!

Your advice is SPOT ON about the cheat days and cheat meals. People. Follow this dude's advice. If you're lost, you have nothing to lose (except weight maybe?). Let’s say you’re 1 month in a cutting phase and at the moment you normally eat 2,000 calories a day in your diet (let’s say a deficit of 600 per day) and you cheated eating a 3,000 calorie surplus, if you weren’t that hungry the next day could you eat 1,000 calories (total for the day/1600 calorie deficit) and the following day go back to your normal routine of 2,000 calories without any negative repercussions (because you’re not burning fat/body making maladaptive changes)?

I’m glad Rem is able to maintain a weekly deficit while having insane weekly cheat days. I don’t think this is a good mindset or sustainable for the average person though. I know I would give up trying to live on 2000 calories + daily cardio to lose weight and have the cheat day. I’d rather see him suggesting something like eating 2500 calories 6 days per week and then 3500 calories on Saturday where you’re still being mindful of calories but fitting in the fun stuff. 6000 calories is just overdoing it and while it works for Rem, it probably won’t work for you.
@rayver7233 жыл бұрын
6,000 calories would be an average amount I’d have over around 3 days based on my allowable maintenance calories. His cheat days also seem to include some sort of drinking alcohol so add that on top of whatever large quantity of food he has. I’d be out of it and lazy the following day

You don't need to exercise more or eat less the day following a cheat day... doing things like that leads to eating disorders and unhealthy habits. Also, stop having cheat days. Stop forcing food down your throat just for the sake of eating. If that's your mentality during cheat days, you probably have an eating disorder and your diet is way too restrictive. Follow a consistent healthy diet and eat foods that make you happy, and indulge every once in a while. It's really not that hard lol. You want pizza one weeknight? Get pizza. Don't wait for your "dedicated cheat day". You know you don't have to eat the entire thing, RIGHT? Just eat 2-3 slices.
