My goal is to be able to play the kit and record a song from my phone, in sync with one another. Is there a way I can bluetooth my phone into the TD 17 and make this work?

I have a lot off problems with my TD-17kwx.First off all the music coming out off my speakers when I place an SD card in to my laptop is much quieter than my drums and sometimes I can hear the original drum in the background.I did 8 recordings yesterday and all except number 1 recording where not good.Number 1 was perfect as the music and the drums where the same level.Unfortunately I did not write it down.Today I went to record my drums over drumless track and when I pushed play green button it kept playing the song that I recorded before REC007 and I was not able to go to a next one REC008.What I do as well I sing over the original singer or I compose playing drums and singing.I really don’t know what to do as I tried everything and I need help.

Thanks for this helpful video! Sorry if this is a basic question but does this somehow remove the original song’s drums when you do this, then record yours instead (so substitute yours for theirs?). Or are you recording on top of theirs? And is there a way with the Td17 to practice on a cover song without hearing the original drummer’s rhymes, just your own?
@migodrums9574 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! So, what I do is playing directly on drumless tracks, you can find many of them on KZbin (unfortunately not all songs are available in this version) and they are exactly like the originals but without drums. So they are great both for practicing and recording. The TD17 module just records what you play it's not a mixing device, so it won't help you eliminating the drums from a track.
@cwilson20014 жыл бұрын
@@migodrums957 Thanks, that’s really helpful! I found freedrumlesstracks.com so will try that next although I may need to change mp3 to wav files to import to td17 (I think? For recording at least). Thanks again for the info!

@@cwilson2001 You don't need to import anything to the TD17 module.. I just play the music from a laptop through the module (with an aux cable) using tracks available on KZbin, and I record myself playing over them. Hi! What I hear in a lot of drum covers with e-drums is bad levels mix between snare, kick and cymbals. I regulated them making the snare and the kick come out a little more incisive. In terms of sounds, I used the Audio drum kit of the module but I modified the snare (changed it to Maple and worked a bit on muffling and tuning), the kick and the tom toms. You will see that we just a little work the sound will improve a lot. Also, the general gain of the drums must be higher than the track you are playing on of course

Hello, I sum up how I record so you can do the same if you like: I connect my laptop to the module with an aux cable in the entry "Mix in" as explained in the video. I insert the SD card on which I will save the track, and I record the video with my phone. Then I play a drumless track from KZbin and I drum over it, recording both the drums and the music together (so you have to select "all" in the recording screen). Once satisfied, I save in the SD card so I have now 1 file audio (SD card) and 1 file video (phone). I mix them with Windows Movie Maker muting the video and trying to sync the audio as well as I can. That's it, I only use sounds that are available in the module and no additional softwares. Let me know if you have questions

Hello, I don't think there are any requirements about the SD card. All cards come with the adapter to be inserted in PC and that is what you need to insert them in the Roland module too. In terms of capacity, you don't need a crazy memory as you will normally save only few audio files on it and you can delete them just after copying them on your PC.
