Nice technique. But what do you do with the edges/borders ? Just trim them ? If so, wouldn't the edges get loose threads, especially after washing ?

This just shows how to do the technique. After that it depends on what you do with it. You can bind it into a potholder, placemat, table runner, etc, or use it in a pattern that calls for a quilted panel.
