Naturally, a child 'does' and then 'learns.' Unfortunately, the modern education system makes us 'learn' first and then decides whether we can 'do' or not.

Compared to the conventional methods of teaching, as a teacher, I listen to kids' ideas and theories before lecturing them. Seeing from their eyes instead of yours helps them observe and stimulate their senses faster and effectively. Let them express their inner passions and feelings about the world around them, and keep them curious about learning because these are the most important elements of bringing up leaders of tomorrow. :)

It's a beautiful thing to see a small child's curiosity when he explores the world around him. That's why is such a tragedy when that child gets indoctrinated, because that ends his quest for discovery on how the world works. An indoctrinated child is an easy target because he doesn't have the intellectual tools to protect himself from the charlatans and self appointed prophets among us. We should instill in our children the love of Science and how to think critically so they don't become useful idiots in the hands of unscrupulous ideologues.

Totally agree, let kids be kids not in regards to their inmature nature but their curious nature, reflective nature, critic nature, that all should be encouraged and nurtured. However keep them autocritic humble openminded moral and reflective scientists and not let them become pompous selfcentered hiperpositivist amoral scientism advocates.

1:24 So we don't have enough parents who understand 1:26 or know how to value the inquisitive nature 1:29 of their own kids, because they want to keep 1:32 order in their household. Parents, schools, teachers, and adults are all the same. This is why we have a large part of the population who are not just ignorant but also not aware of it.

This is one video. There really aren't enough parents who support their kids' young learning experiments. One reason why the United States ranked low in STEM Education. STEM should really be in the upfront of the kids' formative years and be introduced. Parents should let their kids experiment and explore the world on their own. With the help of STEM Education, they can take learning into a whole new level with fun and excitement. That would all be possible if it is supported by parents.
