Credit Karma won't impact your credit score. She's mistaken on this. The only pulls that show up on your credit history are hard pulls, like when you apply for a new line of credit. Soft inquiries, like credit karma, or when a credit card company pulls your credit history and sends you a prequalified offer are different. Note: just because you are prequalified, does not mean that you will not get a hard pull when you apply for that card, it just means that when the credit card company pulls your credit history to see if you would qualify for their card before they send you the invitation in the mail, your credit history isn't hurt. If every soft pull showed up on your credit report, there would be one for every single credit card offer you've ever received, and countless other soft inquiries.

I think its important to talk about installment accounts as well (car, house, student loan payments) because as someone who’s paid off all three of those and have zero debt, no installment payments, and uses my credit card and pays off the balance every month, my credit score went down. It is difficult to get out of debt but it's possible. Sell your things that you no longer use to make extra money to pay debt quicker. Remember material things are just that things!!! You don't need all that stuff. I have had crap credit and good credit. Usually it's when I owe too much is when my score gets lower. I pay on time every month and more than the minimum. I just got out of debt myself and am so happy I don't owe credit card companies any money. I do the same. I use a card with reward points and leave my money in my checking account and pay my card each month. It's easy to track all your purchases as well.

I have fond that maintaining 3-10% of your balance gives you the biggest boost for you credit score. That means you do not pay your credit card all the way off, you want to spend enough that you can pay the minimum payment and still owe about 3% of your maximum credit. So if you have a card with a $5,000 limit you would keep a balance of $15 at all times.

It’s not good to to pay your credit cards in full. Your credit score does not go up significantly. What I did to make my credit score go up from 712 to 750. I called all of my credit card vendors and asked what day they report to the credit bureau then I would make payments days before the day I was given. And that’s how my credit score went up drastically in 1 month 1/2.

I think it’s easier to get one for stores, she’ll just start with a lot limit, mine are all under 400 but she can request a credit increase later

Charasmarie Plans If you have a credit card, you can add your daughter as an authorized user to help her build credit without having to apply anywhere. I have an 18 year old sister and I just did that for her. She will not be responsible for the debt. Don’t give her the card unless you trust her. I’m holding my the credit card I got my sister. Your daughter will gain credit history based on the total and the length of credit. Another way is for her to get a secured credit card. This is where she will put down $200 or what ever amount she chooses of her own money on the card, spend it and pay it back. Note: Retail cards and cards like capital one are different types of credit building

A few years ago I opened a few credit cards and was not smart with them at all! I was only 21 years old when I lost my first good job so I just didn't finish paying off those credit cards. Now I am 25 and finally getting back on my feet with a good job but I have no idea where to begin, who to call, or how much money I owe. Could you (or anyone in the comments) tell me what I should do? Do I go to my bank or do I call the numbers that are listed under the Credit Karma site? I'm at the point now where I want to start looking at houses and I know my credit is to low to even come close to getting a loan. HELP!

Get a copy of all your credit reports from annualcreditreport.com. Then call and work out deals to pay off all your collections over time. That’s a good place to start.

What does it mean to pay off credit?? So if my bank account has 400 dollars and I charge 300 on my credit card does the money get drafted out on a specific date. Also what if I want to pay it off right away. How would I get that to happen if it is taken out on a specific date...if it is taken on a specific date...Sorry for the crazy questions...Thanks!!

Gj Bvd you get a bill each month. You may owe 400.00 but they ask you to pay the minimum of 25.00. Don't ever pay the minimum due of 25.00 pay the entire balance off of 400.00 to keep your credit score higher. If you pay the minimum the following month you will owe interest

You can pull your credit score 50,000 times and it won't hurt you. And this is every day. Hurts your credibility to get this wrong.
