I can tell I'm a recanning type of gal. Tonight Tessie showed me how to take cans of store bought tomatoe sauce and turn them into pizza and spaghetti sauce then water bath them to last a very long time. I may never grow enough tomatoes to can but at least if I can buy it I can recan it. This playlist is so awesome if you want to learn how to recan. Thank you👍💙

Lily of the Valley is my Mom’s favorite flower/plant. After seeing your video about never forgetting I’ve decided that I’m going to get some and plant them in memory of her. She’s not physically gone yet, but Alzheimer’s has taken the Mom we’ve known and loved away from us already and I’m told it probably won’t long before she returns to the arms of Jesus. That pizza sauce looks amazing-what a great way to “fix” your blooper. You’re so creative, sis, you even make your mistakes into tasty projects! Loved this video.

I'll keep you in my prayers. I know from experience that some days can be very difficult. My mom had Alzheimer's, too. I took care of her, the best I could, during the last few years of her life on this earth; she's at rest now. Peace, Cheryl

@Cheryl A/T having a loved one on this journey is the only way anyone could ever understand. It isn’t anything I would wish on anyone. My sympathies on the loss of your Mom, but at least you have the knowledge you’ll spend eternity with her, and God will bless you for caring for her. Thank you very much for your prayers, I can’t tell you how much I appreciate them.

What a nice gift of flowers, and they have such a lovely smell too! I bought an electric pressure canner, I haven't used yet, but I used to cook with a regular pressure cooker all the time when I was younger. My mom taught me how to use it. We always had a hot meal on the table in no time. That was before slow cookers came out. I need to dust those off and make some broth and soup to can soon.

My mother grew Lily of the Valley & beautiful Iris in our back yard. She planted four different kind of roses in the front yard,. She also had many other plants all over (good memories). But I do believe the Lily's were her favorite! I remember reading that Lily of the Valley is one of the plants that are recommended that we place in our bedrooms. Hi Tessie. What great price for those enormous cans of tomato sauce. When I make a nice sauce, I start with the same pot I am going to use and I sautee onions, peppers, carrots, with some olive oil, oregano, powder cummin, and some parcely leaves, then I add the sauce and let it cook until it changes its color, it turns dark red. Yummy!!,! Much love from Chile👏❤️🙏👍🌷

Homestead Tessie yes it is. Not Lily of the Valley by itself, mixed usually with other Fragrances. I'm not sure how to spell eud" de toilette water, weaker than cologne. Higher end stores sell it. If you add low acid ingredients like peppers and onion the sauce really should be pressure canned. Better to be safe. Modern tomatoes are less acidic and should have citric acid or lemon juice added to it to water bath can.

Question: We love the diced green chiles for recipes... I especially love the sliced Cactus you buy in jars at a store called Save A Lot southern Ohio. Is it possible to 're-can' those into smaller portion sizes such as 4 oz. The #10 cans online are much cheaper than $1.39/4 oz can I buy the chiles at now. How would I re-can those into 4 oz jars without cooking them into mush? Same with cactus (Nopalitos)? Also... can I can my onion/peppers so all I have to do is open and use same 4 oz. portion sizes? I'd like to avoid the pressure canner (so using a water bath) as anything I am canning right now turns mushy... I am getting something wrong with that!
@HomesteadTessie3 жыл бұрын
No Because Peppers are low acid same as cactus ,you would have to pressure can them and then it would turn into a mush you can freeze then though ,Re canning is only for high acid foods

Believe me, there are people who makes mistakes in a normal shop (not even online). My biggest blunder was in Germany, I thought I buyed ketchup in a tube (very common in the Netherlands) and there was something written on it with Tomato.. So I thought that I couldn't be wrong.. Till the other day, I made some French Fries and I should give that 'German Ketchup' a try. I removed the cap and with a huge squeeze, I discovered that the 'German Ketchup' looked funny and I took the tube and saw 'Tomatenmark' (Tomatopaste) written on it :) I had never seen tomatopaste in tube, but learned that in Germany it is common thing besides tin cans :)
