Great video!! Question? I see "blocks" of fish not arches and when I go to down scan I do not see any detail of brush or trees. just soft blobs. I have the same unit.

Question. When you set your sensitivity does it effect the side scan and downscan also?? Scroll speed. Does it also speed up all the pages also? Thanks for your informative videos!

I apologize I didn't get back to you early but I didn't see your comment until now for some reason. Anyhow, yes when you set your sonar sensitivity it will increase your sidescan sensitivity.

I bought a hook 2 9 tripleshot 2 years ago and have never had a solid fish arch ever not one single time. The structure scan is very pixeled I've watched thousands of videos trying to figure out why changing setting moved the transducer even tried it on different boats

I have my sensitivity on a plus 2 and when it gets too cluttered I'll back that off. Contrast is on auto. I make sure to turn off surface clarity and noise suppression I don't have any of that stuff turned on. Really making sure your transducer is level at a certain speed is key. I have my transducer set so I can graph at four miles per hour. I hope that helps a little bit any other questions you have fire away I'll do my best to answer them and I'll be doing a video on my settings here very shortly.

I can not get this thing to read fish in deeper water 50-70ft.

Have you tried increasing the Ping speed? Also what transducer do you have? If you're reading fish that deep you'll also need to turn up your sensitivity

@@WillSelbyKayakFishing I have the splitshot transducer, I actually just learned about the sensitivity when I watched your video, used it yesterday the arches were really nice in the river (18fow) but as soon as I stopped on lake erie (@68fow) couldn't find a fish to save my life even the ones I caught it didn't mark. How do I adjust the ping speed?

@@go-ham1594 I'm not sure if the split shot has the capabilities to scan that deep. I do know the tripleshot does. The Ping speed should be located in the custom setting.

Hi. I having problem with my hook2 7ts. Mybe you know answer. :D evrything is oky when im at 2-2.5meters of depth after i go deeper my transducer cant show button line. Its not yellow anymore its just a blue line and when going deep its get thiner and thiner. In like 6-7m of depth I bearly see it. If i put sensitivity to max its stsrting to get ticher but then all screen is with other things.

Ok so. When you are scanning deeper waters its best to use 800khz. 800 is a more powerful cone and will allow you to have your sensitivity at a normal spot like 70-80%. I ould also suggest you turn surface clarity or clutter on to see if that helps clean up the screen. If your still having issues its very likely that your graph/transducer doesnt have the capabilities to scan down that far in murky water. Hope this helps.

@@ugis232 There should be an option for you to change it. If not then unfortunately your graph doesn't have those capabilities to scan the deeper depth.

I have a video from a few years back that shows how to adjust for better fish arches I have another one coming out here shortly I think you'll enjoy but ultimately you want to turn off any of the options like noise reduction or water clarity. Then you'll want to adjust your sensitivity until the arches show. I have a video coming out here shortly that will help a bunch.

@jacop1996 down scan should show the fishes as tiny pieces of rice but if you have sonar overlay on then you'll definitely get some arches On downscan.

I am new to fishing and to sonar. I have the Hook 7. What I don't know is, when you see the arches, where are they in the water relative to the boat assuming the transducer is on the back by the motor?

Thanks for commenting. Whatever you are reading on your graph is now in the past so it will be behind the boat.
