That “Boss Babe” culture almost wrecked my life. It took 3 family members dying back to back (2 were tragic) to wake me up. I was so sucked into that whole culture and got brainwashed by it. ME. a devout Christian who knew her worth and value was in the LORD but I too fell for it. I did a TEDx talk about my big wake up!!! It’s on intentional living and the choices we make that define our lives. I thank God for allowing me to go through what I did so I can help others wake up too. Thank you for what you do here.

when I first read the title of this video, I was initially offended. So many people these days "work from home" and "make money off the internet" that we are in near crisis of staff shortages everywhere. there aren't enough nurses, teachers, janitors, hair stylists, grocery clerks, auto mechanics, social workers, line workers in factories, postal workers, farmers, and in all of the trades, etc. and people in those fields are stressed to the max. but as I listened, I began to understand your point - because it is true that even what used to be the most solid, permanent jobs with benefits are no longer guaranteed. It sure doesn't hurt to look at options, and as you say diversify the revenue stream. I continue to be grateful that you thoughtfully bring up such diverse topics. thank you.
@LittleHouseOnTheMountain2 ай бұрын
I so agree with you. A lot of people are having such a hard time getting a job at all let alone one with a liveable wage. I'm impressed that you watched even though you thought you wouldn't agree. That shows a lot of character. ❤
@Sammiejammie5212 ай бұрын
Working from home is not the reason there is not enough workers in trades
@a.sunflower2 ай бұрын
If jobs would follow supply and demand, maybe more people would enter back into the traditional workforce. Jobs apparently have a low supply of workers, yet are not raising their wages to attract workers. Also, a lot of jobs can’t even guarantee 40 hours. My husband works a trade and has hardly gotten 40 hours a week this year, forcing him to seek extra side work on his own.

Ugh this video spoke to so many insecurities all at once 😂. I dabbled in the mlm world for a bit (👎) and I think it traumatized me a little with using social media 😅. I even completely stopped being active on there despite enjoying my time sharing bits of our homeschooling and intentional “stop and smell the roses” kind of living. I became self conscious about adding to the noise when we’re all already struggling to control social media consumption. A bit disenchanted, if you will. But the reality is that I’m having my own reality check about my families needs, and what my options are while prioritizing being a homemaker/homeschooling mom. The internet offers such unique options for us! Ahh I need to seriously pray through this.

I haven't had an income since July 17, 2023. I got a text that there are two classes free for women in West Virginia. One is StepUp Manufacturing and the other is StepUp Construction. I'm interested in the Construction one as it teaches you carpentry, electrical, and plumbing. More skills mean more job opportunities and I could use those skills at home. I could be a personal organizer (I was born with that skill) but it requires financing. I'd need a business license, business insurance, a van, and a driver. I can't pass the vision test for me to drive. I'd be a good librarian but they didn't hire me.

Maybe you need to think outside the box a little. Perhaps you don’t need those things to be a personal organiser, maybe you could make KZbin videos on the numerous topics involved in personal organising and start to build your brand that way. I understand if you prefer to have individual clients but, if you feel that option isn’t available to you right now then maybe KZbin videos or a video course on how to organise (so many different areas in life we need to organise means lots of different videos) might be a good way to start, because you can start there rather than just wishing you could have that job! Maybe one of the courses of Lea’s that she mentions in this video might help you to start that out some other way of doing it online… I wish you all the best and pray that God shows you the best way forward!

I quit my nursing job to be a stay at home mom and wife including homeschooling. Been trying to make and sell natural skincare including shampoo and conditioner bars as well as lip and skincare. Prior to that making soap from scratch. No success. I have gotten so discouraged and came to think that maybe Abba doesn’t want me to do that and just focus on my family. I just feel bad that I can’t help my husband financially as we just bought a house a few months ago and mortgage is huge.

This was encouraging! Thank you and I will pray about it. I do need to do something different for income. Meanwhile, I’m building a greenhouse to allow garden growing to continue longer through the year. The world is upside down with threats of a famine. God’s will be done, but I will do what He lays on my heart to do day-to-day. The greenhouse is the current project🙏😊Blessings!!!

I’m so sorry about your sibling. There was a point when my younger brother was addicted to meth and he was homeless, I even saw him walking down the street downtown during this period which shook me to my core. The thought of his death plagued me for years so I can only imagine my biggest fear coming true would break me but somehow one day he just quit cold turkey, and he’s alive and sober a few years later. My heart breaks for you and I’m so sorry :(

We've been going through a similar phase lately. We let them coerce us into taking the vaccines when they were not allowing us to enter most institutions. It caused quite some scary health issues over the years. But at least God in His mercy showed us we need to create more options. So the past months I've been blogging, vlogging, and setting up a newsletter. It's been quite a challenging journey but also wonderful to connect with people online and learn a lot :) Thanks for all the work you do! God bless!

I stumbled upon this video at the exact moment that I needed it. I’ve literally been realizing lately that I’m sick and tired of not having control over our income. We are military and plan to finish a 20 year career, but really don’t want to rely on our military income and even post-military income. So, yes, I wholeheartedly agree that it is super important to have diversified income streams. It’s just like how stores or brands have multiple types of products they sell. Why should we only have one source of income? It doesn’t make sense, especially in the uncertain world we live in. I’m also a homemaker and Christian. I feel called to be in the home, but I also feel called to help support my family and relieve some of the financial burden from my husband. Thank you for sharing this video ❤

I really appreciate all of your videos and your sweet lessons in simple living. I take exception with one of the ideas you presented in this blog. That is about buying things at thrift stores and reselling them at a profit. That may seem like a good idea but let me tell you my concerns : most, if not all thrift stores/second-hand stores were established as a way for people to share things they no longer needed and for low-income people to be able to purchase these items. I love thrifting and get so excited when I find some cute or useful little thing for my home but I have noticed in recent years that the "big-box" thrift stores such as Goodwill, Arc, etc have raised their prices because so many people are buying up the nice things to resell online. Low -income people are being priced out of the one place where they could find clothes for the family, items for the home, etc. I would just ask that people be mindful of this situation when they go thrifting. If someone is buying items for resale to supplement an inadequate income, more power to you but I fear that that is often not the case. Thank you, Lea, for caring so much and putting all you can into helping others. God bless you and you husband.

I was baptized two weeks ago after 27 years of oppression and thinking as a woman I HAD to be strong or I would end up homeless. Well Jesus saved me from my anger, victim mentality, rightous anger, and endless striving... I read a comment that said to you, "what about making a video about the Word of God?". Can I defend you? Girl, I am exausted from living a life away from God. All that time my pentecostal church was hitting me over the head with the law... I can tell your videos are of God without you having to exactly say it...because you're doing it to love others. Period. And that's Christ. Don't let rightous anger discourage you from creatjng the help you are providing. Thank you.
