It depends on the type of maps he is able to fc. In the 1 to 5 star range there are a lot of maps without even triple bursts, mostly older farm maps and only doing single notes or sliders is not going to make you skilled enough for more diverse maps in the 4 to 8 star range. But if you talk about ss-ing diverse maps then yes they have the potential to go for limittesting

The only asterisk I'll add here is that for a mainly HDHR player, they don't all need to be SS ranks for this to be the case. It can be very difficult to actually get that 100% on longer maps, even if the player is a complete lunatic at accuracy like Kingling or kirby mix.

I don't think overranked is much of a thing. The ranking measures your ability to get pp, and well if you have more pp you are better at getting pp. Plus almost everyone has farm maps as their top plays. Which means you can only be underranked or boosted. I don't understand the hate on pp farm anyways, you don't see people complaining that usain bolt only ran 100 and 200 meters

@@sebastian-se8ub there are competitions which require you to master multiple disciplines like sprint, long distance, hurdles, spear throwing , etc. Just like Habib is good at tech, speed, aim, hr/hd/dt, etc. So I'm comparing Habib to one of those athletes and usain bolt to a pp farmer. Usain would beat the athletes in a Sprint and maybe even 500 meters, but would lose in every other part of the competition.

I believe being overranked doesn't really exist while being underranked does exist. People always assume that farm top plays means you're overranked when the reality is that everyones top 100 will eventually be populated by farm unless you actively avoid them in which case you will most likely be underranked because of that. Even if you don't mainly farm as long as you don't avoid farm maps you will have them in your tops.

I think the best way to tell if you are overranked is to look at your overall graph. Does it trend up? That means you are playing and getting better and the scores you are setting scores accurately reflect your improvement. If you are staying the same or decaying (Like me PAIN) then you probably farmed some scores that don't necessary reflect how good you are at the game, and you can't match those scores and get hardstuck.

That's not right, that graph compare your ranking with time. This means that with this graph you can understand how your improvement is faster or slower than people of your rank, it doesn't show your improvement with yourself on time. If this graph could show your pp, you could see if you improve or not.

I think rank comes with progression and we should rather consider certain maps or playstyles as overweighted in the pp system. The player did just use this error or mistake in the system to his advantage thus not doing anything wrong and therefore is not overranked.

There's no such thing as "overranked" Your rank is your rank Period. Game doesn't try to measure some crazy combination of all skills and balance them correctly A big part of your rank is the motivation to farm PP maps, if someone farms more than you and they're higher rank, they are higher rank

You are very blatantly misunderstanding what overranked means because it’s nothing to do with solely your rank it’s to do with your skill and that’s why people have an issue because while it is wise to ignore rank as a measure of skill a lot of people feel it should have some semblance of an accurate reading into how good people are and that falls down to how pp is gained and how certain play styles are incredibly boosted and others are not so just because someone plays one way they appear much lower rank because they enjoy playing a certain way but players who farm or already play the way the pp meta goes get boosted and are higher rank than they should be in terms of how good they are that’s what overranked means and you don’t seem to get that because there can be a huge margin between a pp farmer and someone who is way better than that person just because person 2 doesn’t adhere to the meta similar to why vaxei is number 9 currently because even though he sets insane scores basically all the time he doesn’t farm and if rank actually measured how good a player was overall the rankings would be entirely different

As someone who has farmed medals before and one of them is the bunny, I shall consider myself underranked XD Jokes aside, I dont think its easy for someone to determine whether one person is overranked or not. Sure they may have farm maps as their top plays, but what if they also have good scores on other more difficult maps like tech or alt, just that it is worth much less because they missed in the middle? Playcount and playtime is also not a good measurement because people improve at different pace. Either way, I dont think people should worry too much on whether they are overranked or not... just enjoy the game :)
