As a Herald 5 with 80% win rate after watching a lot of videos and practicing a lot, should I make some guides of how I do it, from a perspective of herald? I have incredible streaks with WR for example, 9 wins in a row as mid and with other heroes too. But now I snowball crash the game from Pos 5 with WR, Dazzle and CM. I know how to play well about 10 heroes and I know good about 20. I think Immortal players don't have a very realistic insight of how the lower brackets work, because there are things that don't apply to them. NOTE: I will climb very soon, the only problem is the game play time. I have to put many hours in it.

I was 4600 mmr before I took a year break and now I've been placed in a 2k mmr bracket. The way these people play the game is enfuriating. Improper warding, no neutral stacks, playing supports at mid. Shit is crazy.

Same here I took a 3 year break, won 70% of my calibration games. Used to be 4.2k, now in 2k bracket. Not even fun really. I still have a good win rate but the climb is sooo slow

I’ve gained a lot of mmr recently by just telling my whole team what to do via voice comms. I just realized I usually know better than most at my rank so when I’m strong (I play mid) I kinda just take over the decision making.

I was a 3k mmr play. Now im stuck at 1.5k. Because of super team focus gameplay. i end up with really cancer teammates. basically cant play solo rank. i play mid. either supps are really bad. or carry fail. or offlaner fail like something always happens.

11min ai voice vid? no thx. without watching the vid here are some tips from an 8k play consistently, so everyday but don't play more than 6 games for example, especially if you lose obviously don't play when you're tried/sick/in a bad mood in general, you should really want to play and enjoy dota win or lose watch your own or pro replays before/after you play, really think about whats happening, especially when you do play, don't autopilot, always look at the map since thats all the info you need about the game (not including everyones level/item timings) spam 3 meta heroes and 2 comfort heroes in your main role and support role there is no forced 50% winrate, never argue with your team, lead your team or mute them and finally blame yourself not your team

Pretty Standard/Common Takes on the topic. Can't rly agree cause obviously climbing is not that simple. Learning a new Trick or improving certain skills doesnt do anything for you If the Team simply doesnt Play to win. Unless you reach a Skill Level that can outperform pretty much everyone in your bracket... In that Case dota became a Single Player Game and you truly can carry yourself a couple hundreds (or even more) MMR upwards.

Nowadays it's hard to win a game even how good you are it's a team effort now The solution change the ranking system from win system to points system you will get mmr not only by winning but also from your overall performance. MVP, Rampages, ultrakill, firstblood, etc. In win system even you get rampage all your effort is wasted if you lose.

do everything that depends on you. There are games in which the team does not want to play and win. Obviously, you will not be able to get into their heads with any words. So just try to do the maximum that depends on you, and get benefit from the game for yourself personally. For example, try some experimental item that you would be afraid to take in an equal game. At a long distance, single losses mean nothing. If you have skill, you will increase the rating.

I was support stuck in 1500 mmr. Started to pick sniper and om i as pos 4. In low MMR lategame is win and everyone plays glass cannon. Glass canon VS glass cannon is ez if one team gets global omni ulti from omni with aghanims. If omni was banned i took a scaling hero like sniper to ensure we had lategame win. Within 1 year of taking mmr seriously i rose to about 5.5k

dude, I completely understand wht are you saying and it makes sence. But have you played on guardian rank or something? I am playing dota for more then 12 years and I am get stacked on guardian. As you said, mates around you doing random action in teamfights or even during whole match.. So it is truly impossible to win game cause it is team play, as you said too. Of course, I had matches which I screwed it up, but still.. Rank system in dota in lower ranks as heralds (of course) or guardians maybe crusaders is not equaled...

Before I watch I will comment, no one will read this but anyway... -I have 43/44% win rate -what I noticed is that if I am not mid I lose 8 out of 10 games -I don't have any friends, I play solo, and you can't make 4 other randoms listen to you or play as a team. Some people waste time in the game, others are testing heroes in ranked for some reason, etc -no matter how hard I try, I can't win alone -I have almost 1k games and I will never get out of Herald, in 20 games I have 13 wins and 7 losses, the next 20 games are 7 wins and 13 losses -not that I am the best player, but when we pick I always try to get a counterhero for theirs on the lane and get some situational items depending on the match, most people just start Dota with Axe in mind and that's what they pick no matter the draft -I lost half of my games, because when we kill them in a team fight, my team starts farming neutrals, afk in shop, doing pointless shit instead of pushing the lanes, and when they win a fight they take 2 towers. I have lost countless games where we beat them 70 kills to 25 BECAUSE THEY PUSH. -I like the game, I have played a lot of Frozen Throne, but after 950 hours and almost 1k games I have 0 progress, and for me the point of doing something is seeing the progress you are making over time. In this case the rank is the measurement for progress and its always herald 3- herald 5

I disagree on one thing. You can actually impact the game as a support, I do that constantly now. I snowball the game so hard, enabling my newbie cores to snowball regardless of what's going on. But there is a problem: not all heroes can do that and you have to be a very good player to do that. Pos 5 is the trickiest in the game in my opinion, because you have to know the heroes extremely well and all the mechanics and timings.

I fell to crusader and the games are so 50-50 even though the lanes are doing well. Archon and legend, was fun since everyone plays within strategy like most time. Crusader is so hard to get out of since there are a lot of bot games. Need to wait for hard carrying metas. The nerf to BKB to magic resist was so tough on getting better chance of winning solo even with mistakes/throw moves.

I kinda disagree, on this meta of teamfights its actually the position 3 the one that can win you MMR. Even the pros know this. The biggest plays in TI generally come from position 3 heroes. Position 3 wont carry the game, but they can win the teamfight. CEEEEB.

Dude, when I had 5000 mmr, then, having moved to a lower rating (4000 and below), I had a win rate of more than 80%, because the skill difference cools down very much. Maybe you are just not as good as you think, and are used to blaming the team for your failures. Or you have an account with a smurf pool / low behavior.

Wraith King is one of the worst offlaner heroes and shouldn't be picked in that position. As for soft support. Hoodwink is the best one. And dark willow with aghanim and eul is really powerful and brings victory.

The match making so Rigged actually. When you start winning streak out of nowhere you get a mid bot Sniper who knows nothing what he is doing. He feeds the mid and carry and losses the game. And when your on a losing streak you get sometime so easy game without any effort you win. So the match making wants us to be stuck at the same MMR

In the end, there are many professional players who know how to play supports. I just meant that it is much more difficult to buff them than on mid or safelane.

I play this game since 2010 so I know they game very well but still I can't solo with 5vs1 like good old days. To day I play a game on rank my carry go afk enemy team kill us and we lost the game no one of my team blame the carry or said something bad to him he was just brain dead idioy. Only PA can carry 5vs1 if you know how to farm 25 minutes bkb, bf, pt, desso I end up 2 games in row with 60 kills in total for 2 games with 5 deaths.
