The deceleration of the hands was something I was doing, but I didn’t know how to put it into words. This has helped my golf swing immensely.

Interesting, but you might want to add HOW to decelerate the hands in the vid. You talk about why its important but not how to do it.
@TruGolfAcademy2 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Aiming to stop short in the finish will create the how. Plus the bit I discussed of body moving up and left through impact. Have you tried it?

In reality you don't actually try to slow the hands down at all. They decelerate on their own naturally as the left shoulder/hip moves up and back causing a "posting action" through impact, this causes the club to automatically whip downward through the ball. During this process, the hands have automatically decelerated to allow this move to happen. Its basically a catapult/trebuchet action.

😂 put on the breaks like your trying to hit the ball low. Check out flying wedge drill.

Honestly don't think it is really much to do with a short finish - you are not trying to stop the swing. Try actually feeling like you are moving the handle backwards just BEFORE impact - its only a feel it wont be really. What WILL happen is that the hands and handle will decelerate - the club head will accelerate. Keep the body turning all the way through.

Great thanks I was hitting the ball so much better - felt more compressed? 👍

the mind has no concept of what 3 degrees open at contact is.... wish instructors would loose the track man data . Golf is not about "positions"...i'ts one fluid swinging motion thru the ball to the finish. I miss the old school teaching.

Did I suggest you could? Data has its place to monitor improvements and understand the why’s. But 💯 need to use drills to create the right feel

That shifting is just a feel ur not actually doing what ur saying
