Cole, this series of videos was an absolute must for me when I decided to completely rebuilt my remote gearbox. I appreciate all you have done and continue doing. I did see your video today and completely understand what your going through. Take your time, do what’s best for you and family. Your following will still be here appreciating whatever content you put out. Thank you cole.

Thank you for taking the time to film, edit and upload this. It's most helpful. Did you do a tear down video too ?

If you are rebuilding the magic wand gearbox it is set up the same way as the remote gearbox with the diff cover being slightly different also For anyone struggling to press the reverse detent to allow the reverse selector to slide through you can put the screwdriver or what you are using to depress it, down the same hole as you out the detent down and then push the reverse selector then when that has moved far enough you can pull your screwdriver out and push the selector rod the rest of the way

Thanks for making this. I have to ask if the selector shaft seal might have been put in backwards? Usually the coil spring side would face the liquid side.
@classicminidiy Жыл бұрын
This is an illusion of the video. The silver you see is not the coil spring, its overspray of silver paint. :-)

is this a 22g1128 remote? Can anyone tell me part number for the flywheel casing that attached to a 22g1128 remote box? I've chewed my bearings and don't have the box in front of me at the moment to look for a part number

Is it possible to remove the engine gearbox sump without taking out the engine in a classic mini
@classicminidiy3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately no. If you have to remove the gearbox and sump the engine needs to be removed. The clutch and flywheel can be done with the engine in though.

Does the reverse gear go in a specific way? Edit. Never mind. I got it.

Why not use assembly lubricant while assembling the shafts? That sound of metal-on-metal is like nails on a chalkboard .
@classicminidiy5 жыл бұрын
All of it does have assembly lube on. It actually. I pre-lube everything. Most people assemble these boxes dry though, I agree with you, I just can’t put all that metal together without some oil!
