I have dual carbs on a 750 zxi I’m planning on rebuilding. I Already bought both carb rebuild kits and fuel pump rebuild kit. I’ve never done a carb before I was thinking about having someone else do them. Your step by step makes it look like it isn’t THAT hard.

The 97 carb has two hoses that connect to the engine, but the 98 only has one port for the hose. Is there a workaround for this situation? Can I put a tee on the single port to accommodate both hoses? Thank you for your expertise. Jeff

What does the little plastic piece do that gets reused in the main body of the carb (the piece that sits about an inch below the plastic venturi check valve)? My carb doesn't seem to have one, although there is an empty spot for it. Any idea what problems I may have running without it? You just eye ball the needle spring? No pop-off pressure check?
@EricksonMachinePerformance
@EricksonMachinePerformance 4 жыл бұрын
popoff is a great way to check that all is well BUT if rebuilding a stock carb , that is in a bone stock ski and using oem parts you will most likly be fine. Performance setups are much more necessary. Many people make alot more out of popoff then it really is on a stock ski. STOCK skis can vary greatly and still run great. Many people see carbs as being magic and a popoff gage is the only tool that tells you anything BUT engines can be setup differently with different popoff pressures and still run great.

It pops off at 25 PSI with the ones I’ve put in. It runs with easy start then holds a good idle with choke on. As soon as I take the choke off the idle starts to accelerate from a lean condition from the needle valve closing and leaning out the mix?
