Good job on the rebuild couple things you should do differently though. 1 get your self some seal protectors from carver. It's a little plastic piece shaped like a bullet. That slides over the threads on the shaft so that the seal does not get cut by the Sharp step on the shaft. Also when you install the shaft into the body you should tap on the shaft with a hammer to "flex" the shims to get the air out of the piston. Keep up the good work.

A true saint. I'm working on a 2014 renegade with absolutely destroyed shocks (the rubber bumper disintegrated) and ended up in the valves 😂😂

Very informative. I have a 96 RST3 mountain bike with a Noleen mono shock. There is no PDF for this thing but your walkthrough seems to be what I need to do. I do have a question though. If after you release the nitrogen charge, then remove the internals can you use the measurement of the IFP before to blow it out to get your reassembly depth? edit : 'before you blow it out'

I've got a shock that I think has a significant amount of pressure trapped in the oil side of the floating piston. I've purged all the nitrogen out that I could, even removed the valve from the shock completely and I can see the floating piston (it's all the way at the "bottom" near the nitrogen fill valve). However, the shock still rebounds, and I can't push the seal assembly inward at all, no matter how hard I push on it, so I can't remove the snap ring. There's definitely gas mixed with the oil as I can hear the oil splashing around when I shake the shock. How do I get the remaining pressure out of the shock?

Did you ever get this resolved? Just started doing my 2.0s with no reservoir and I can’t get this bearing to move down at all to get the clip out

Consider just measuring 8.25" on the hammer and marking it with tape so you don't have to insert the tape measure into the shock body.

Did you say you out XMR shocks on that 650 you just rebuild? Curious to know if a XMR shocks fit a regular outlander

Thanks for video been looking for this. 2 questions, first you didn’t change the nitrile puck how come? Second shouldn’t the oil be overflowing out the top when you insert the inner cap piece to insure no air is mixed with the oil?

Yes it can be overflowing. I didn’t have any problems with air after rebuilding these.

How did these perform, just curious. most rebuild videos I've watched the person doing the job, bleeds the oil and pumps the piston up and down a bunch of times to get all the air out and completely fills the shock body with oil before putting the seals back on and charging it.
