A tip is to use the Traxxas tool that removes the wheel nuts, it fits in the back hole of the can perfectly then you use a rubber mallet and tap the tool which is just touching the bearing and it will get the bearing out.

I never like Traxxas, but I was amazed by my first 1/10 Velineon setup! I have about 20 RC's atm (stupid, but I couldnt stop) & now I own quite a few Traxxas models (3x Bandits bought used to clean up & sell) Stampede, Rustler, Slash, E-Revo & Summit (the huge 1/10 scale ones that everyone thinks are 1/8) & the Slash turned out to be my favorite RC ever! (only the 2WD version is my fav) With the Velineon VXL Motor & ESC its possibly the fastest & most powerful 1/10 I have & the 2WD Slash is by far the best handling RC Ive ever owned, I have 2 of them & even better they have the OBA (on board audio) & for some reason the sound kit makes them soooo much more fun to drive! it works so well & literally sounds like a full sized tuned race spec V8 engine. Couldnt recommend the OBA more & it works with any RC as long as you have a 2.4ghz Traxxas Transmitter & Receiver, any model as long as its the later 2.4ghz models, not the 2.4ghz models that look like the old 27mhz ones.

Very well done 👍 a note for people trying to remove the bearing. Work from the outside. Like he says, the inside wiring is very delicate, one wrong move and it's all over.

Any good ways to extract toe outer ring of the bearing if its stuck in the end

@@djsprc Alright, just bear with me for another question how often does this kind of maintenance need to be done, if you hear that dreadful noise from the motor or for instance once a year. ?
@djsprc Жыл бұрын
@@georgepapamichail1006 you should not do this often if you maintain your vehicle you should not but if you’re running a lot in snow rain mud you’ll need to maintain your motor

How do you know when the motors bearings are shot will it make some wired noise when you are driving it or do you have to take it apart to check?
@djsprc5 жыл бұрын
If you start seeing your com moving up and down that’s a good sign that your bearings are done and yes. If you want to open it to do confirm if they’re good or not you could

This was a great tutorial and I’ll definitely use it, but as I started working through the steps I found that the magnet on the com had split trashed the windings inside. Maybe next time

Hey bud I k ow the video is old but that rebuild kit is for the newer 4 pole motor which uses the plastic end bell and has braided wires I love my 2 pole on my 4 pole esc on nihm it beats the new 4 pole motor on 2s all day My question though did you uabe any issue with the motor using that rebuikd kit heat isssues running issues anything if not I'm ordering two so I have them
@djsprc5 жыл бұрын
My success ratio is roughly about 50-50 with the rebuild kit if you get to the point that your bearings are done there is a chance that the motor is done to. Now the rebuild kit for the new motors I did not play with it yet

How did you get it out when you heated it up
@djsprc4 жыл бұрын
Basically what I did is i use with multiple kind of tools to grab the side of the bearing and slowly hammering it out you have to be careful. To make sure your tool does not slip and ruin the windings if that happens unfortunately your motor will be done

If you can't get a new bearing in, use an old bearing on top of the new one and seat it. Then dump out the old bearing.

This motor and ESC are expensive garbage. Don't ever buy them. For that money you can buy professional gear from LRP and Hobbywing. The professional gear is actually cheaper than this garbage.
