Hey got a question! My old ktm exc 125 lacks break pressure, dont get me wrong it brakes fine but the lever is pretty spongey.. I bled it multiple times to no succes, do you know if rebuilding the brakes or master cylinder might fix this?? Thanks allot!
@DanMX2112 Жыл бұрын
It will help but the spongy feeling is due to two things. Not having a steel braided brake line, and having air in the line. If you have a braided brake line, bleeding the air is your issue. The master cylinder would be a cheap and viable option after the bleed, if it continues. Did you zip tie the lever overnight? That helps sometimes evacuate the air.
@bve7397 Жыл бұрын
@@DanMX2112 I did try zipping the lever, works but only for a day or so doesnt seem permanent
@DanMX2112 Жыл бұрын
Hmmm, mine is soft but not spongy, I wonder what’s up.
@bve7397 Жыл бұрын
@@DanMX2112 Oh yea spongey soft kinda is the same, it brakes fine. But I can basicaly pull it all the way to my handlebars if I really want to :/

Le piston est à l'envers. La partie creuse va vers l'extérieur, et la partie plate à l'intérieur.

Brembo pistons don’t have a hollow side. If you watch the video, you’ll see that when it comes out, otherwise you’re correct on most brakes. Thank you sir!

My leaf spring doesn’t snap in like yours did I’m not sure how to put that in correctly and have it stay while putting the brake pads on and then back on the bike everything just wiggles around and falls apart

I’ve got a 2004 KTM 625 but bought it used so not sure what the caliber is
@DanMX2112 Жыл бұрын
The leak spring doesn’t really “snap in”, more just fits in the bottom of the caliper. Maybe you have it the wrong direction, I’m not sure.
@bradleyferrell9242 Жыл бұрын
@@DanMX2112 in the video it sounded like it snapped in. I think I might have the wrong size. It doesn’t stay in and when I put in the break pads they all just move around even with everything back together on the bike
@bradleyferrell9242 Жыл бұрын
@@DanMX2112 I was riding it around to test and the pads came loose and got bent in the spokes on my wheel. Bent the pads and shredded them. Basically taking it to a mechanic at this point but the video was amazing I think I just have the wrong part or different calipers

I tried pressing the piston back in on my back caliper with a c clamp and think I heard it crack, it looks a little damaged is this a big deal

Didn't you put the piston in backwards?
@DanMX21122 жыл бұрын
No sir, but you did make me watch the video and double check 😂 the KTM piston is solid, so it’s closed on both sides.
@wlanceg2 жыл бұрын
@@DanMX2112 strange. Mine is not solid, so it must be a change throughout the model years. Great video. Thanks for the info.
@DanMX21122 жыл бұрын
Your welcome, and if it’s not solid, the open end faces the brake pad! Good luck and thanks for the comment!
@wlanceg2 жыл бұрын
@@DanMX2112 That's correct. The reason I thought yours was backwards was because I saw the solid end facing the pads. I honestly have never had a solid one. Maybe they stopped that after certain years.
@DanMX21122 жыл бұрын
I’m sure they did for weigh savings and response. It’s a heavy little piston honestly!
