@@chainsawace1777 I pulled the blue kill wire out of the red plastic housing where it turns off and on and also off the spade just ahead of it. Bad move. I was expecting to see a metal spade connector in the housing. Now I have no idea what the female connector slides on to since I don't see a male spade in there. Any help appreciated.

I know you made this a couple years ago but thank you! Quick question, when adjusting the carb do you need a special tool?
@chainsawace17776 ай бұрын
It depends on the chainsaw. Some older saws just required a small screwdriver. However, newer chainsaws require a special tool, but different brand saws use different tools. Here is a tool kit that has about everything you need for adjusting carbs. HIPA makes this one. Very good quality: amzn.to/3woopbF

Really detailed video. At 19:56 where the two air inlet holes there is a gasket sealing compound circle when I removed the compound it seems like an o-ring would fit there instead is that normal to use gasket sealing compound there?
@chainsawace177720 күн бұрын
That timestamp is at the end of the video. I'm not sure what part you're referring to. Can you check the time stamp again?
@TL50-r9f20 күн бұрын
@@chainsawace1777 sorry it was at 4:26 this is interesting I would not think husqvarna would use a gasket/o-ring seal compound
@chainsawace177719 күн бұрын
Got it, I think I know what you’re talking about. There should be a part there-not really an O-ring, but more of a clearish-yellow seal on the ones I’ve seen. Are you saying yours is missing and there’s some kind of compound in its place? If so, that compound isn’t supposed to be there. You might need to look up the part number and order the missing seal if it’s available. Sometimes, you’ll need to order the intake part as a whole to get that specific piece, as it may not be available separately. It sounds like someone may have worked on the saw before, lost that seal, and tried to replace it with gasket compound. Here’s a link to a 455 on Partstree that may help: www.partstree.com/models/455-rancher-husqvarna-chainsaw-2013-01 I hope this helps! Thanks for watching and commenting.

Did not receive an answer to either of my questions with regards to saw holder and or sonic cleaner
@chainsawace17775 ай бұрын
Sorry sir. I missed it. The holder is a bicycle clamp. It fits the bar of a chainsaw or trimmer shaft perfectly. Here is a similar one on Amazon. amzn.to/4aWLws5 Thanks so much for watching!

So, great job but a compression test doesn’t actually tell you anything about the cylinder, it just shows the rings aren’t stuck and you can tell that without a tester. I personally have saws that are completely scored up but still show 150+ PSI of compression, just something to keep in mind
@chainsawace177710 ай бұрын
Thank you. Good info. Appreciate the feedback.
@andybecker269310 ай бұрын
I would save yourself a lot of trouble and just look inside the cylinder by using an endoscope. You could also just take off the muffler. Compression tests can lead you down a rabbit hole.

Sir,how do I remedy the black substances on my sthil saw muffler? Its a fairly new saw as well ! I'm running 98 octane gas with a 40:1 mixture,using sthil oil ! Thank you in advance Gunter
@chainsawace177711 ай бұрын
Hi, thanks for watching the video. Your problem is you're running the wrong fuel mixture for a STIHL. All STIHL Chainsaws and other gas burning handhelds run a 50:1 fuel mixture ratio. You are doing the correct thing in running a high octane fuel. The higher the octane the less pre-detonation of gas in the cylinder. Just make sure you switch to 50:1 mix and your clogged muffler should clear up. Again, thanks so much for watching.
@chainsawace177711 ай бұрын
I just noticed that you said it's STIHL branded oil that you're using. I've never seen that ratio sold by STIHL, but I may have just missed it. Anyways, switch to the 50:1 mix. Also, the best and cleanest burning oil mix you can buy is the STIHL HP Ultra Mix. It's fully synthetic and comes the in the silver bottle. The orange bottle mix is the standard oil and does not burn as clean as the silver bottle hp ultra.

It clips in. Press each side of the clip, from the back side of the primer and it will come right out. Thanks for watching!

Got a video on how to install an antigravity unit on a 455? I like mine. It's like a Cummins Diesel in the wood. But I'm getting old. It's heavy and hurts my neck & back & elbow & knees. Wahhh! -Pro saws are good for around 2000 hours. A 455 is likely good for close to that (except the fuel system) due to metal reinforced crank case and large crank bearings, if it's taken care of. But even if it only lasts half as long as a pro saw, it's only running for about an hour per cord. If you cut and burn 10 cords a year, it'll last 100 years. If only 5 cords, 200 years. If only 2 cords, you bought the wrong saw. They're a good used saw to buy too. You might get lucky & find a well cared for one from an old codgers estate who died from a stroke or snapped his back in two all alone in the woods while heaving his fat toad firewood saw around and was eaten by wolves or coyotes. If so, buy it. Bonus: After one season cutting firewood, you'll be built like a brick outhouse from the workout you'll get. It you'll need lumbar surgery.
