Thanks man, I didn’t know I could do this on the tuner. I just updated my truck I was running 37” tires and I would never look at the speedometer because I knew it was wrong. Thanks bro, I owe you a new subscriber. Appreciate you

@@hogie1685 How much do you want, I know someone that might be interested. I drove my truck this morning with the tune for the first time. Can’t believe I went this long without it. Oh bye the way I found my tuner for $80 on offer up. The guy purchased a new truck and didn’t need it anymore.

I have a standard transmission and I'm curious if the manual high idle still works. I have an '05 with a 6 Speed instead of an auto. I increased my tire size and being an standard transmission I could feel the difference with larger tires. That said, I can still run 60 mph with the cruise on and not have any issues with the hills around here (Speed Limit is 55 here aside from Interstate Highway). I did go from 22/21 mpg to a solid 25 mpg highway and 22 mpg in town with change in tire size. I'm looking at the Smarty for mileage purposes and for a little extra power when towing and of course, manual control of the high idle!

Yah with a Manual I believe you need to run a wire from the CPU and ground it to get the high idle. I know cause I wish I had it also #ManualLYFE. What size tires are you running on your truck ???
@hogie16853 жыл бұрын
You know what I’m gunna make a video about this. I’m gunna run the wire and show yah’ll how to do it. But yes you are right. U need a programmer that will enable the high idle. I think the dealer can flash the CPU to enable it as well. Yah the truck is so much better on a tune. The power is nice!!!!! I love my Smarty JR but will be getting a CSP5 switch (EFI Live) tunes.

@@hogie1685 I'm running 285/75R17 which was the largest I could go without changing the suspension or wheels. I think the size fits the truck nicely. I forgot to say while running 60 mph with the cruise on, that was pulling a trailer with heavily modified Jeep XJ on it. A little weight, but nothing serious compared to what this truck has pulled in the past. I'm definitely interested in the process to activate manual control of the high idle. The truck only does this automatically in extreme conditions and anytime I know it's going to sit and idle for a bit, I prefer the rpms to be up a little a more. I'm looking at Smarty now and might see if I can contact them to see what they say.

Do you find any improvement in fuel mileage (hand calculated) with the smarty jr? I have an 06 and wondering if it makes any difference. Thanks.
@hogie16854 жыл бұрын
Yah definitely on the hwy. 11.2L/per 100 compared to 12.2. And truck has way more response and Boost. Stock was 27psi WOT and on the 100hp tune its 40 lol
@GNR3254 жыл бұрын
@@hogie1685 Thanks. 11.2L per is about what mine gets on the highway. That's a decent increase. Not really looking for more power and want to keep the transmission alive.
@hogie16854 жыл бұрын
Is yours auto??? The G56 tends to run the revs kinda high on the hwy. like 1900 rpm at 100. With 285/70 R17. When I have my 315/70 it’s about 100rpm less.
@GNR3254 жыл бұрын
Sorry I meant to say 12.2 is what I can get on the highway (at best). Mine is an auto and crew cab 4wd long box. 285/70/17. Much of the time I get about 17 us mpg running 90km/hr secondary roads and some town driving. I see a lot of guys saying low 20’s mixed driving. That seems like a pipe dream to me.

Does that have to be vin locked to that truck to do speedometer adjustments? Example: can I use my friends smarty to fix my speedometer, and his truck still "holding a smarty tune"
@hogie16854 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure to be honest with you. I know when it’s VIN locked it will read codes still. You will have to try the ABS calibration on another truck and let me know!!! I don’t know anyone else that has an 03-07 Cummins that I could try that on.

Do you have any sort of lift or leveling kit to fit the 315s. Also with the 315s do you feel like you lost any power?
@hogie16854 жыл бұрын
No leveling kit. Just little 1/4 spacers behind the rim. And absolutely no power loss. Well I can’t tell at all with the Smarty JR!!!!! Lol
