Can you explain how you handled the drain area?

This is the trickiest area! I removed the drain. I Then I used frog tape because it’s more durable than masking tape and secured where the drain screws in. The 2nd tub I did I used a cup and tape because it was a larger drain hole. So do not remove the tape until the product is almost dry. You can’t do it when it’s completely dry because it will bond to the tape! If you do too early it will be too gooey and it could sink into the drain after you screw the drain back in. Big tip too. Don’t add so much product that it all goes to the drain and has a high buildup of product. You will need to remove excess material so it doesn’t pool by the drain. The material should be pretty even over the bottom. **Also if you happen to mess up, you can sand down the dry material you did on the tub. (Last measures of course!)

Did u have any fine cracks and chips? Do u have to fix those first or can you go right over it with this?

I had chips on a side and at the bottom of the porcelain tub. I would suggest you fill them just in case. Make sure it's a smooth fill if possible. It's better to be safe than sorry later especially if it's on the side. For hairline cracks you are probably ok.

Sorry for the delay on replying! I cleaned the tub with Lysol toilet cleaner (it was recommended) and then I taped the edges with frog tape. You don't have to remove old caulking, but you can if it is really gross. Where the tub meets the ground is a tricky area. I watched some videos on how to prevent the product from running under the tape and messing up your floor. I discovered you use like a DAP white caulking to seal the edge of the tape on the floor. This won't work if you have carpet of course. Also the drain can be challenging too. The product needs to dry a few hours, so keep checking on it. Also it really needs to be over 75 degrees, preferably over 80 degrees or I noticed the product doesn't self level as well on a cold tub, sadly I learned the hard way on another tub. Lastly, do peal all the tape off before the product completely doesn't you will be using a Exacto knife and cutting the tape out. To get excess bubbles out of the product, use a hand held small torch over the entire tub, holding it a few inches above the tub but constantly moving the torch or it can slightly create a divet and or burn the material. Hope this info helps!
