Oh duuuuude! THANK YOU SO MUCH for this Recuva!!! I was originally transferring some files from my SmartPhone via USB-C to USB in my PC. For some strange reason, they were missing, but the connection was never lost on the cable. It was over 5GB worth of spoken audio (VERY IMPORTANT and historical stuff) by an older client of mine who loves telling stories. I was freaking out that I didn't see the files. So I went to KZbin and found this instructional video to recover my files. Lo and behold, they were there in the drive I sent them! I did however move them to another hard drive temporarily, as the warning suggested for "safer recovery". All 17 of those audio files were there! Whew! I would have hated to lose all of that precious audio. THANKS AGAIN!!!

@4:03 "This kicks off the download process" This can also kick off you not being able to recover your files. If you accidentally delete a file, the #1 priority is to not write anything new, or modify anything, on the drive where you deleted the file. -- Downloading Recuva is the same as creating a new file, which could overwrite the file (or a portion of the file) that you accidentally deleted. -- Installing Recuva is the same as creating new files, which could overwrite the file (or a portion of the file) that you accidentally deleted. It would be ironic if the tool you want to use to recover your file ends up being the culprit responsible for preventing you from recovering your file. When you go to download Recuva, you should save it to a flash drive, and run it from the flash drive. (note that Kevin did nothing wrong, because he downloaded and installed Recuva on his main drive, while his deleted files were on his flash drive) I am pointing out the above, in case you ever run into this situation -- do not install Recuva on the drive where you need to recover your files (and this applies only if you deleted files, followed by downloading and installing Recuva). The best situation is if you download and install Recuva, before you ever need it. Then, if you ever need to recover files, just run the already installed Recuva. Cheers!
