bat 1, 2, 6 are safe to use but for other bat are depen on hardware so if any of you feel down at performance just use bat 1, 2, 6 and if your download speed feel slow its because autotuning off, to turn it back on open your command prompt or powershell (as admin) and use this "netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal" & to turn it off use this "netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled" remember to restart your pc after apply the tweak note: you can see what the code inside the bat file with notepad (Notepad > File > Open > Change Text Documents to All Files > Select the bat file > Open)

With all the tweaks, my latency improved big time, got A+ on buffer test... however my download speeds dropped from 900mbps to 180mbps... I tried turning auto tuning on, then running the test but my download latency went from 2ms to over 100ms... I know how to revert everything, but is there anything I can do to keep that low latency, and get my download speeds back up to normal??

Word of warning: do be careful. An older network tweak video totally messed my connection (especially VPN). Luckly I had a recent full Windows backup and restored it. Not even system restore could undo the mess. So try it, but do make a backup before.

Be careful though your ping may drop drastically when turning tuning off but your up/down speeds may drop drastically as well. For me found the happy medium to be setting the auto tuning to Highly Restricted instead of disabled.

Really helpful, went from an F to C, in games I would have ping spikes every few minutes and would take a few more minutes to stabilise. After applying your settings I am yet to have a ping spike and is way more stable especially when trying to stream higher resolution videos. Amazing work thank you so much

Bufferbloat also has to do with having a good router, with SQM/QOS enabled. I use a custom OpenWRT router, with sqm opkg installed with cake queue discipline. Helped me eliminate almost all network bufferbloat, at the cost of some speed. Great video as always tho. ❤

For anyone wondering why the output has 2 "The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect." in command prompt output: It's coming from the netsh commands and only happens because a subinterface doesn't exist. So if your PC has no Wifi or Ethernet, this is normal. If you have additional interfaces where you want to change the mtu, write their names down in there also.

This really helped my ping in VALORANT (APAC HK/SG Servers) almost all the time stable to a point where it does not move and enemy team thinks I am AFK, but it has it's downsides. I'm struggling when it comes to things outside the game, I can't watch twitch streams and Discord and other socials load slow. It happens that I will have packet loss once I'm doing other things outside the game. Other than that I might try out 1,2,6 (top comment-ish) Really nice guide, If there is something that can help with my issue then feel free to let me know!

The correct way to reliably lower latency and jitter is to use a router that supports something called *Smart Queue Management* or SQM . This will provide better results for internet connections that have more than just YOUR PC connected and using bandwidth. With SQM on the router the bandwidth penalty is barely noticeable too... unlike that crazy hit you take from this windows tweak!

I runned the file and I'm so happy my man. I had connection issues (mainly packet loss paired with ping spikes) since last year and had many technicians come by trying to fix the problem. I did everything possible, from adjusting router settings, switching dns servers and even changing to a new router. But what did I even gain? My starting point was 100mb download and 50mb upload. After running the file, I went to 92mb download and 44 upload. So in general my speed lowered. BUT I do not have ANY packet loss nor ping spikes anymore. I have a fluid gameplay and stable connection. For the first time since year I had played several matches without any problems. Thank you so much ❤

Worth noting that if you have a gigabit connection bufferbloat is largely irrelevant as you'll basically never fully saturate your connection in normal use and will probably never see huge spikes in latency like shown in the test. It can be a problem if you have a slower connection though.

If you want to fight bufferbloat, you need a router with QoS. First, I bought an Asus TUF Gaming AX3000 V2, but it wasn't enough, especially if you have a slow internet connection. So, I bought a MikroTik, and the amount of options, including CAKE and FQ_CODEL, queues.... The number of options to play around with is incredible; the downside is that you have to learn how to use them.
