I am very blessed that I don't experience cravings anymore. I've been on a strict keto/carno diet for over a year now. I backdoor-ed my way into it because I have suffered from food allergies my whole life, which didn't come genetically but by chronic inflammation of being raised on fast food / TV dinners via parents low-income. After two decades of constant diarrhea, vomiting, migraines, memory loss, adhd, anxiety, oversleeping, God compelled me to switch my diet dramatically. I had developed PCOS by age 12 and had even lost my menstruation by age 24. I am so joyous to report that I have gotten my period back, dont suffer from migraines or oversleeping, don't suffer from memory loss, and have normal restroom breaks now, in my 30s. For the FIRST TIME in my life. I even maintained the 30lb weight loss without extreme exercise. (Although I do exercise 4× a week, I was never able to lose that weight while I did). If I as much as smell a gummy bear, I experience an overwhelming zap in my brain. Sugar no longer controls me. God bless.

I took some notes and can share :) eat a lot of fiber eat fermented low-sugar food (sauercraut, kefir, kimchi - not kombucha!) eat colourful frouts, veggies, spices, drink teas and cacao eat more protein-rich food, esp meat and turkey try eating 100g of spinach daily drink green tea (good quality) eat black beans, turmeric, greek yoghurt, berries, cranberries and peppers basically eat more whole foods and less sugary, processed food.

I find eating cantaloupe, honeydew melon, and watermelon help. These help fill up my stomach without adding a lot of calories to my diet.

Hunger was mentioned here, but do cravings come from hunger ? I'm very rarely hungry, because I'm always reacting to my psychological cravings ....

What are your eating / drinking habits? Pure caffeine reduces appetite (black coffee without any sugar/cream). Stimulants do as well (adhd meds). High protein diets reduce hunger in general (meat > starches).

It took me more sessions to lose the cravings. About three 24 hr fasts. If you get woozy, add a small serving of whey protein

Hi. I am new to your channel and podcast. Found you via a podcast with Dr. Stacey Sims. I am a 56 year old female, Type 1 diabetic , post menepausal desperately looking for information on how to best train/exercise, build muscle, and get rid of the accumulation of fat around my mid section, as well as maintain good blood sugar levels. Finding information to be contradictory. Can you talk on this subject?

I don't know if I will be helpful but I reversed my type 2 by going on a strict ketogenic / carnivore diet. If you abruptly stop all consumption of refined starches and sugars, you will lose 15lbs< of water weight within the 1st month, depending on how much you weigh. And then the fat begins to be metabolized in the body because you are no longer storing as much or are chronically inflammed. I mean going as far as: - purchasing sugar-free ketchup instead of ketchup with high fructose corn syrup - drinking only water or black coffee or sugar-free tea (no juices or sodas) - don't consume rice, potato, wheat, grain (any starch) at all Pair this with habits that reduce chronic inflammation by: - stop consuming any fast food whatsoever because you cannot guarantee how it's prepped - stop purchasing anything pre-made with seed oils (comprehensive list found on internet) - stop using seed oils in general - stop purchasing anything with soy (like tofu, vegan products) - stop purchasing anything with gums (like xanthum gum) or emulsifiers (like soy lechitin) - stop purchasing anything with food dyes (like condiments/dressings with red 40, blue 20) - ensure all fruits/veggies are washed to reduce wax layer & pesticide on surface - purchase as much of your externalities in glass jars to avoid leeching plastics at all costs (like ketchup, pickled items, BBQ sauce, pasta sauce, soup, oil, water, drinks, etc) A diet with a variety of beef, chicken, turkey, fish, eggs as the primary source of energy with sides of veggies/fruit, is key.
