if the lighter wont refill use a knife blade and leverage under the valve slightly lifting higher than the plastic lever will then fill. Usually works

The best way to resolve that is by putting 3 of those little rubber gaskets that are in the refill valve (the part on the bottom of a torch that is used to refill it) on the bottom of torch lighters. Im sure their is another solution but this is the only one I know of and probably the best solution and the great part is that you can put the gasket back in the torch after you use them

I mean there are decent refillable "semi-disposable" lighters that can be almost as cheap as throwaways, they last longer too, clippers are great, I've got some that have worked for years, just replace the flint occasionally and refill. Much easier!

Can i use a syringe? I have other lighters that are damaged but still has gas on them so i was thinking of taking out the gas with a syringe and putting it inside a working lighter with less or no gas at all

they are making it harder to break open the shielding metal on bics i think specially the mini ones which also hold the flint wheel unlike the big ones that have plastic part of the lighter holding both ends the minis will have the wheel pop off if you ever crack it open and i noticed they got some extra plastic tab on both sides where the metal cap wraps around then ends near the button doing something to make it harder to crack i think even tried to remove the child safety rig was not possible ,was able to pull the front part near the flame but could not pull it out where it goes down behind the button

awesome. i wish you could fill up a BIC like that and replace flints too. i saw someone fill a bic from the top without punching a hole in it. ultimately, if you can't replace the flint, there really is no point to reusing a disposable lighter, i would just buy a nice clipper or one with replaceable flints as well.

Bics have a flint that's probably I would say double the size of other cheap lighters it's very rare for me to actually have the Flint run out on a bic before I lose it or it gets broken or some other weird thing happens to it. I am an avid smoker and use my lighter thousands of times a day and have many bics but I probably only had the flInt actually run out on a bic lighter two or three times in my life. As for how many times I can refill the big lighter before the Flint goes out? Again I would probably say 10 times? Maybe more so it actually totally is worth it.

Easy. You put the wheel and flint in plastic tight. Put flint and wheel on in one piece then tear plastic off. Fail proof. There’s a video tutorial up.

you can even replace the flints. Remove the flint wheel and spring. you will need tweezers to hold the new flint....You will figure it out.

flint is other part that is used up.. but you can find few lighters laying around by time it goes out so you can just change it.. or your friends lighter runs out and just ask it for the flint..

How do you do it though if the refill hole is at the bottom? Mine is positioned at the bottom underneath the trigger section. People keep showing that they have to take off the case at the top and refill it there, or do you do have the refill nozzles at the bottom? I’ve tried doing that twice and every time I’ve succeeded, it immediately won’t light afterwards. No idea why even though I’m filling it up. People keep saying that the gas gets out, but I thought the gas came from the liquid? In which case shouldn’t it not matter if the gas gets out because you are refilling it and more gas full form anyway?

Purge the lighter of any air, hold down the gas and bring it to your ear. When it stops hissing then fill it up.

Think about it, the gas comes out of the nozzle when you open the valve( press down the button) because there is more pressure inside the lighter than in the air. Conversely when you have an empty lighter there's no pressure however there is pressure inside the refill can. So, when you lift the gate / valve / button, your spraying it directly into the out door.

I'm not sure what that bit about turning the little wheel means. Can someone explain please. All I see is the little plastic knob that adjusts the gas flow. Also, all jokes aside about the disclaimer, this is bloody wonderful. These are classed as "disposable" plastic lighters and so many people just chuck them away FFS... I had the same confusion! But I saw it more clearly in another video. That plastic flow adjuster turns a continuous wheel, just within a small range, usually. What the guy is doing is actually turning it whichever way normally by just moving the tab laterally, but then he pops that tab UP so that it's no longer engaging the wheel, and is able to move the tab back to its starting position without affecting the wheel. By repeating that, he's able to move the wheel past its usual range to open the flow wide.

@@lacunate I dont know how to explain this, but here: -Turn the knob upward until it no longer makes contact with the gear beneath the nozzle. -Rotate the knob clockwise, ensuring it avoids contact with the gear. -Return the knob to its original position until it re-engages with the gear, then rotate it counterclockwise as instructed in the tutorial. -Repeat this process seven times.

Take out nozzle and poke a bigger hole then stock but not bigger than valve diameter. Fill slow then push valve back in with level already attached and put everything back together. Practice but it’s better then using push pins and tiny flame.

It’s a gas lighter, not a liquid lighter. That empty space is a mix of gas and air and won’t work properly if full. The body is thin unlike a bic which made it curved to fit more gas.

If it doesn’t spark in the wind? All lighters except jet torches do that. Irrelevant. Push button again until it lights. As far as if the peizo igniter breaks? You can replace it with a donor. But I wouldn’t waste my time on a 99 cent lighter doing that. This is different. Fast and free. However I replace them all the time in good lighters and torches mini and big. You get a dollar store bbq lighter and put the peizo in the broken lighter by cutting the wire to size. Easy. Tutorials all over KZbin. Fixed my friends torch yesterday and was so happy. I try to buy button lighters for this reason. I get every old lighter and save all of the parts. No more piles of lighters in a landfy.

True. I can’t believe how microscopic those screens, spacer and disk are that get clogged in the valve over time. Everyone has a different opinion on cheap or expensive lighter butane. I heard they all are 95% or more pure so 10x refined might only be 1% more pure. Lol. It depends on the lighter and quality vs parts used.
