Pro tip, you don’t need to have a 2nd set of cartridges. When you get the ink low message, hit the Back button 5 times, the light wont be on but will flash when you touch it. This brings up the secret maintenance menu that will allow you to reset the printer which allows you to reuse the depleted cartridges. Works every time for me. Also, to answer the glue questions, hot glue is the best method I’ve seen so far, much better than drilling a hole and plugging. You just need to redrill through the glue the next time you fill it.

I have an hp X476dw MFP. i have purchased both oem and aftermarket cartridges.Right now the printer won't print because it says the majenta is empty even though when I shake the cartridge it feels at least half full . It is an aftermarket and I have 2 more aftermarket majentas that also feel half full. This seems to be the m.o. with all the cartridges but I can't say for sure if this has happened with the oems.. It doesn't warn when ink is low. I have to remember to check it. Any ideas appreciated Thanks

It's definitely unusual for cartridges to indicate being "depleted" when not actually empty. That said, it's not a huge deal because this model only remembers the most recent cartridge of each color. This means if you remove the affected cartridge, and refill and install a different cartridge, you'll be back up and running. Of course, always refill your cartridges before they run empty to avoid any errors at all. Simply remove your 4 cartridges and shake them to feel the ink inside.

Can you peel the hot glue off in the future to refill a second time?
@InkOwldotcom9 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! It comes off easily with a sharp blade or a small flathead screwdriver.

Does anyone know how to do the refill on the 913a/973x? I have noticed that the spring where the syringe is usually pressed is now a rubber seal and is no longer usable after being pressured. I need a fix to this asap if anyone can help? Thanks

I had the most difficult time removing the hot glue without it looking like a mangled mess. Maybe there's differences in hot glue but I'll never do that again. Better to either use the same ballplug or get new plugs.

what does it mean "dry cartridge?" what kind of problem is this?? thank you?
@InkOwldotcom9 жыл бұрын
+Serdar ÖZGÜL We're referring to a cartridge that is totally empty. The printer will give a message along the lines of "Insufficient Ink", and then the cartridge will need to be replaced.

how many ml fits in each cartridge???
@InkOwldotcom8 жыл бұрын
It depends. You want to fill it up until almost at the brim and then withdraw a bit, in any case. Approx fill quantities: HP 970 Setup = 140mL, 970 Regular = 50mL, 970XL = 240mL, 971 Setup = 110mL, 971 Regular = 40mL, 971XL = 110mL.
