Elise, I am also going through the worst aftermath of a breakup. My friend of 10 years and partner for 2 decided he no longer has the emotional capacity for a relationship and wants to work on himself alone. I am crushed at the loss and feel so much grief to lose someone I believed I had a solid foundation with. My dream died with that relationship, but now it’s time to discover a new dream. Thank you for sharing yourself through the good and the bad. From pain we can create the most incredible future full of art and love 💗 thank you for being amazing! I started my own channel because you inspire me 💖

@michellebyrom6551 Жыл бұрын
Absolutely. Dampening the bottom edge of the outside of the curtain before you get in the shower will make it cling to the bath, not you. For pretty, a waterproof curtain to go inside the bath and a fancy curtain to hang outside the bath, from the same hooks looks luxurious.

Yes. I have a pretty outer curtain, and then a liner inside (use the same hooks for both, of course) and always tuck the liner in. When guests upstairs occasionally don’t do that, the water leaks down into my living room.

Otherwise it will make it seem like the ceiling is very low. Give you a claustrophobic feeling. Also keep the trim on the doors, windows and baseboards and trim along the ceiling white. :)

Elise, you learned so much from this break up. I know this sounds like an odd thing to say, but your tips on how to handle a heartbreak are gonna be so helpful to so many. Specifically your last two tips on anger, and taking back things that were taken from you. You’ve taught me something today Elise, and I’m 62 yrs of age. I had so much pent up anger, and heartbreak from a long marriage with my ex-husband that included children that I’m sure it contributed to me getting two different types of cancer. It’s taken me a long time to recover from everything. But……, now, there’s not much now that will keep me from speaking up when I’m feeling I’m being treated unfairly. On a different note now, your new outfits look beautiful on you, and also, wouldn’t it be fun if you wallpapered your ceiling? I think that would look just fabulous in your new entry❤👏🏼👍

And guess what...if that deserving person doesn't come along, building the power back into your life, as you have done using very wise, healthy-minded tips, will put your best self out in the world and you will soar! Trust your path Elise...you are on the right path for the long haul of your journey! Sending you all my strength from one empowered woman to another. So proud of you!

Elise you look absolutely stunning in that white outfit just after doing your hair with henna. The outfit, the hairstyle, all of it looks great on you. The pink color for your walls actually looks fabulous, I really like it. I think painting all the doors and trim and baseboards white would really set it all off and look great. It was wonderful seeing how thrilled you were to be painting the walls the way you wanted to. I can see your joy. As to the breakup, it is definitely hard to go through such heartbreak. I'm still working on being ok. My fiance and I broke up 7 months ago, and it still hurts. Even though it ended on good terms and no fighting, it still hurts me so deeply because we had a future planned, we had so many things we were supposed to do. But in the end we wanted different things apparently. I do feel myself getting stronger each day, but some days are still hard. It's very difficult to lose your best friend after 13 years. One day at a time.

All, I can say is that your tips are great. When I was single, my Mom taught me to love myself first and learn to be independent. When you like yourself you learn who you really are. Then I got tired of dating guys that were not right for me. So, I made a list of good and bad characteristics. Then went back and highlighted 3 good qualities and 3 bad qualities. The 3 good, the guy had to have and the 3 bad were things that I could not tolerate. Usually, after a couple of dates these characteristics will show up. This is how I found my husband now 32 years married.

I love that white sweater dress! Your hair looks amazing, too. As far as the outfits, I really like the pencil skirt..you look fantastic in that coppery color! About your ex..he's an idiot. If he treated you badly, he's not worth giving any more thought to. You deserve to be treated like a queen and any guy who doesn't treat you as such isn't worth it. When I was in my early twenties, I was engaged to a guy I thought was going to be the one for the rest of my life...until he went away for his first week of college and brought home a new girl. The arse wouldn't even come outside to talk to me! I was absolutely crushed, but you know what? It made ms stronger and after that I decided that any guy I dated had better treat me like a queen or he was gone. I laid down my one rule..they mess up in ANY way, it's over. And I stuck to that. My mom thought I was crazy, but I was determined to never be hurt like that again. I was probably a little harsh, but it weeded out the losers..LOL I've now been with the same guy for over thirty years, married for going on twenty-seven! We never fight about anything and I love him more every day. You deserve the same..every woman does. *hugs*

You lost a relationship, a dream of your future, but gained wisdom with that experience that you are now sharing. That's why the red flags will be apparent to you far faster next time. One thing I finally realized is to pay attention to the family and how that person interacts and deals with them. If he can't support you, he's not for you, we want so much to fit someone into our dreams where it isn't always realistic. We then blame ourselves for not doing something right. I Love all your outfits!

Brilliant advice Elise, and even if there are moments of sadness occasionally, we can just go with it for a little while, then take a deep breath and let it go. Wow... I love that tip about taking back things that feel stolen from you. I have found that a lot of my interests have come from other people, and when they let me down, I feel like I don't know who I am, that I don't have anything that's just "mine." But reframing it as taking things back or claiming them... I never would have thought you could even do that! I've had such a hard time moving on from people who have hurt me, mostly because we were never official and therefore we never "broke up" - we just faded away and I was left confused, wondering what happened.

I love the blue outfit! It makes your beautiful hair pop, the outfits are all lovely. I guess it depends on where the date is … the mauve pink hallway is gorgeous, don’t paint the baseboards or ceiling. Keep them white. Painting them will box things in and make things small and dark. I can’t wait to see what beautiful art you will hang there, your comments about healing are all sound advice. I think it’s important to remember to “never put all your eggs in one basket “ an American saying.. meaning never give 100% to anyone, protect your self and your heart.. never settle , and never take somebody else’s scraps.. you identified you are impatient and that can be a blessing and a curse . After you got screwed over with the house deal that was the screaming g red flag to end it and distance yourself from all those people that didn’t have your best interest in mind. You can’t force true love…it takes time to build a solid relationships , in the world of psychology where I come from studies show it takes 3 years to really get to know somebody and see them when they are stressed ,go thru hardships of some kind.. anyone can put on a mask and show their best side under that time frame….. think about that the next time you let your heart be vulnerable to another…and proceed with caution.

Brave wearing white right after henna 😮😊 You look amazing! All outfits looked great on you. I think you should go with it with the hallway/entryway/foyer and paint the ceiling too and idk about the baseboard but the one up by the ceiling though. You can always paint it white if you want later but I think it will look amazing and with a ceiling lamp and maybe some wallsconses and/or table lamps, maybe 1 or more mirrors etc it will light up. But also I think color and even darker color give light in a way more than a sterile white wall by it giving so much warmth. But all pink and then with art and a rug etc it will look so amazing, a real statement and a small hallway is such a great place to do something bold. So I say; Go for it, paint it all pink! oh and the take things back tip in the end is so true. It can be the hardest but it helps so much. And also shifting (not necessarily to anger but) to starting to think about how and why the relationship didn't work and how it wasn't good enough is great. And as you said, talk talk talk, talk it all out and be sad etc in the beginning, even if you don't want the person back you can let yourself "mourn" the relationship being over and things not going as planned, then it's just easier to go on and realize all that was wrong and start to heal and not be scared to be reminded of things.

If anger has helped you let go then more power to you, whatever works. We are all different. For me, I find anger to be counter productive as it only poisons us from within, at least that is the way I see it. Letting go is the key. I'm sorry he treated you so badly, you didn't deserve it. But you will find the One. The one who will make you forget about him. He will become insignificant like a mere dot, a period, the end. One day you will look back and realize how fortunate you were that you cut your losses before it was too late. You looked beautiful in all of the clothes that you modeled. They were all solid 10s on you.

...with age comes experience and learning to pay closer attention to what your gut is telling you about someone you're dating. Don't ignore that..your instinct is always right!! Yes, sometimes we are blind-sided and "never saw it coming" but the majority of the time, we did see it coming and chose to ignore it in hopes that the relationship will just get better! Sending continued healing to your heart Elise! Thank you for sharing your life with us!! Your new home is Fantastic!!! xo

Love your tips. You are an inspiration❣I would add one thing, use that anger to move forward, but when you are ready, let that anger go. You do not want to carry that anger around with you. Ultimately the gift to ourselves is to forgive and let go so that we can live without that weight on us.

Hi Elise, I'm so happy you have been able to move on. However, the guy that broke your heart seems to be a Narcissist. If you don't know anything about the traits and what to look for, you might fall for it again. You are a beautiful person and thst is what they pray for. They also come back love bombing the person making in this case you think thst He has repented and really loves you. Please don't fall for it because it will be a vicous cycle. If you do fall for it again with him, expect the same treatment and even worse before he discards you again. I knew thst relationship was fishy because everything went so fast and you gave him your all. Please learn EVERYTHING about those characters. It is painful to even go through it all over again when you are learning about who he really was, but necessary for you to get a trigger and stronger and have your radar on when you see things are too good to be true.

Hallway is beautiful. Crown molding painted white would set this hallway off. Good idea to wait on painting the ceiling. Also mirrors would reflect light. All the clothes are so beautiful on you. I love the first rusty satin top and skirt and blue jean outfit because it makes your face lights up. Now I would score the green outfit much higher. Please don't underrate your body. Your figure is dynamite. Hair looks amazing really brightens your complexion. Glad you pinned it up to paint. All great points to heal your spirit and your heart. Glad to see you happy in your beautiful home. Thanks for the video.

The hallway wall colour looks lovely. Painting the skirting boards and ceiling white would make the overall aesthetic look classic and timeless, and keep the space light and airy. It is nice to watch you create your new home, step by step.

With each new video I see you blossoming again, and it's lovely to see. You are a beautiful, sweet person and it's that person's loss for not appreciating the special woman you are. Your hair looks soooo pretty, love that color. All the outfits look stunning on you. I love your pink hallway too, it's such a pretty shade. I look forward to watching your videos and seeing all the changes you're making to your home. I'm so happy for you and proud of you and how you have pushed through this hard time and are overcoming and finding yourself again. Honestly, I've always found that it's in my times of trial that I've grown as a person and learnt a little bit more about myself. I'm a spiritual person so I always pray and say Lord, help me find the lesson to learned in this situation so it's of benefit to my life, and He always shows me something, which gives me comfort, wisdom & insight hopefully. Keep moving forward, you're doing so well.

Dear Elise I'm so proud of all of your accomplishments and I'm so happy that you have the courage to use this platform to help others during the hardship of a break up. My story is sad and anger did help, I needed something and nothing was working I mean nothing, then out of nowhere Miley Cyrus put out a video that just empowered me, it's called Flowers and its invigorating The video is pretty good and not bad bad but she's getting back up after being treated so poorly. I cried for the first 10 times listening to it now every now and then I'll cry but I'm getting stronger. After 40 yrs of Marriage, 3 children and 4 grandchildren, he wants a younger woman and has a baby. So you see your advice is awesome and true thank you so much for being you!! Hope the song will invigorate you. Thank you for sharing Shalom 🕊🍷🌞

That pink looks absolutely perfect! The shade that comes through on the screen, at least, is marvelous. Not a Barbie Doll pink and not too dark or brown. Just right. Cheerful and sophisticated. I'm glad you are getting over your heartbreak. Those outfits are so cute. Remember, no need to rush into dating too soon. Maybe going out in a group first?

Love your new look Elise. Love your pearl earrings, obsessed. I really liked the tip about taking back what you feel you lost. That is brilliant and genius. That way you can really reframe the relationship as actually enhancing your life. Now those things become yours and no one can ever take them from you! Excellent.

To you and all the people who are going through difficult times… you are not alone and this too, shall pass! Do not let this get the best of you. It’s just a period of growth. Better things are ahead. And also, Elise, you look great in white and in pastel colors❤

Elise, I just discovered your channel. A friend commented on a recent video of mine that we were going through a similar journey, and I'm so so glad she did! I'm just now selling my house and hope to have some wonderful news to share soon about my new property 🤞🤞🤞. As an introvert, it is so hard for me to get out there and surround myself with loving people, but every time I do, I am so grateful - it IS helping to heal my heart. Congratulations on being a home-owner and a radiant, successful, creative, badass single woman!! You've got this!! xx

I like all of the outfits. The first was my favorite, the rust colored blouse and pencil skirt. You look so beautiful in everything and you have a great figure. All 10/10. Please take all the time you need for yourself. If dating feels right then go for it but don't make yourself if you don't feel like it. You have a lot on your plate right now, getting settled into a new home, and having to give up your car. Feelings of loss tend to come in waves so it may get better and worse for awhile. You might be doing great and then suddenly find yourself crying again and it's okay. Anger is good and it's a sign of healing. The pink color in the hallway is really nice. There is just something magical about pink and white together. I have one room where I painted the walls a pale pink, and the ceiling and trim a creamy white. Another room I painted everything in a soft pink, walls ceiling and trim, it has a very calming feeling. All my other ceilings are white and I wish I had painted at least one ceiling in a dark moody color. A dark teal blue looks wonderful with pink. Aqua also looks great with pink, or a pale golden yellow. Darker colors are good for baseboard because it will get dirty. My white baseboard really annoys me, it gets SO dirty and it is hard to clean. I painted my floors a dark brick red color and I love the way it goes with pink, but the paint on floors does chip and wear away a lot. I want to tell you to go slow with the house, don't push yourself too hard, but I also know that the more you get settled in it can get harder to change things. You did the right thing opening up that wall right away even if it did take a chunk of money.
