This is a step by step tutorial on how to issue a full refund to a buyer with eBay Managed Payments. I share my observations about what is different between eBay Managed Payments and how refunds use to work when eBay was using PayPal. I just started selling and I only have a cell no pc and when you are on cell app you can't even issue a refund there is no option for it. I don't understand why so I had to use a friend's computer it is a completely different set up. You helped me out with the video thank you

Accessing Payment tab is easy for me, because I've enabled 'Seller's hub' and that's where I pretty much manage all my transactions. But thank you for this video. I have to refund someone and I wasn't quite sure how the process is gonna be.

I actually sold one iteam on eBay and it’s only been 15 days and the buyer requested for refund and said it’s defective. Now I have mentioned on my eBay seller that buyer pays the return but now eBay asking to provide the label so I have 3 choices. 1. Upload your own label 2. Confirm you sent a label 3. Confirm funds have been provided for a return postage label or helped the buyer to return in another way. Kindly guide me what I should do.I am totally new to this thanks.

practically every video i have watched, the seller has a different looking seller page than mine. and they way they get to the refund is different than mine. i wonder why so many different views? i finally figured it out. Maybe I should make a video. lol thanks for the help.

You totally should make a video! I know it has been frustrating for me when people ask me questions about their screen but I have no idea how to help them because mine looks so different. I don't know why its not all uniform but you should do a video, KZbin is another great way to make money from home and help your eBay business too!

Hi thanks for the informative video, a buyer recently opened a case about my item and eBay accepted their return request, it says on my account ebay will refund the buyer once the tracking shows I have received the item, I received the item yesterday and the buyer has said he hasn’t received his refund yet, and is asking me for the refund, I noticed the original payment I received from the sale has been removed from my PayPal account, do I have to still refund the buyer myself or will eBay refund him them self from the funds they have taken

If the money was already taken from your PayPal it sounds like eBay already took it to refund the buyer. I know in my PayPal when a refund was taken out, next to the withdraw transaction is said, "Refund Sent". If that is the case, the buyer might need to wait a few days for the transaction to go through. This is what I found on PayPal's help page of "How do I issue a full or partial refund" it says, "If you have a balance with PayPal or you have money waiting that you haven’t accepted yet, the refund is paid from it. If you don’t have a balance or money waiting to be accepted, the entire refund will be issued from the primary bank account linked to your PayPal account. Depending on your bank's processing time, it may take up to 5 business days to process your refund even if the refund status shows "Complete" in your PayPal account." So if the item just arrived today, and eBay just took the money today the buyer may need to wait a few days to see the transaction. You can always contact eBay to verify that this is the case. You can share whatever eBay tells you plus whatever PayPal says about refunds to the buyer to reassure them that their money is on its way. This is just what I am assuming is happening I would suggest getting another opinion though! Hope this helps, Good Luck!

@@GakpoSZN If you go to this page "Refund the Buyer as a Managed Payments Seller" on eBay's customer service pages, I will link it here: www.ebay.com/help/selling/managing-returns-refunds/refunding-buyers-as-a-managed-payments-seller?id=5182#section2 , In the "Tip" section on this page it says, " If there's an open cancellation, return request, or item not received request, eBay Money Back Guarantee case, or an open dispute made outside of eBay against an order, then the Send refund option will not be available." But that probably still doesn't answer your question sorry. I think eBay will do the refund, I don't think you will manually have to do it, but I would try contacting eBay via phone call to double check. I am just giving my opinion here so I hope I am not leading you astray, I don't work for eBay, but as a reseller that is what I am assuming. I would just double check with eBay because yeah you don't want to double refund the buyer. So sorry you are going through this, refunds can be a nightmare!

I am not sure if this answer is correct, but what I believe happens is they will take first from your available funds and whatever the balance is still leftover they will then take from your bank account. So I think they will split the charge between your bank account and the available funds, but I am not 100% sure about that. It has been a while since that has happened to me and I really can't remember! So sorry I do not have a solid answer for you! Thanks for the question!

I am not sure why it tells you to try again later or why the sold screen does not show. It must be an eBay glitch. Sometimes these things fix themselves in a couple of days. I would try logging out and then logging back in. If that doesn't fix the problem, I would contact ebay. I wish I could help more, but I don't work for them so I am not sure how to fix this issue sorry! Best of luck to you!

Do you wait for the buyer to return the item before you give a refund??? I gave a buyer a partial refund (full item refund less shipping cost) for an iPod I sold that worked fine. Buyer claimed it wouldn’t charge, but I know it would. I didn’t feel that I should eat the shipping cost to ship it back to me. I clicked offer refund, and the seller got his money, but never sent the iPod back. eBay said the case is closed and doesn’t have my back.

Have you heard of a final credit value? My buyer is saying they didnt receive what I accurately describe when I shipped their item.. I have no refunds selected for this item. Ebay is making me refund no matter what but they are talking about a "final credit" that I will receive what is that?

It sounds like they are talking about giving you your final value fee back. So when your item sold eBay took a percentage of that sale, probably about 12.35% +$0.30, since they are making you refund the buyer they are going to credit you/ or give back to you that 12.35% +$0.30 that they took out for fees. I think that is what they are talking about.

This is a new one for me. I know eBay wants all sellers to be on the ebay managed payments program so maybe its a way to force your hand into switching over. Thats my best guess. Sorry I could not be more helpful!

Sorry you are going through this! I noticed this comment is almost a week old so perhaps you've been able to solve this already. I haven't ran into this myself, so if I were in your shoes I would call ebay and have them help you walk through it. I am sorry I don't have the answer for this one!

Here is something I found on eBay that could potentially be the cause if you follow this link on eBay's customer service page www.ebay.com/help/selling/managing-returns-refunds/refunding-buyers-as-a-managed-payments-seller?id=5182#section2 and scroll down under the heading "Issuing a Refund" in the "Tip" box, it says, "If there's an open cancellation, return request, or item not received request, eBay Money Back Guarantee case, or an open dispute made outside of eBay against an order, then the Send refund option will not be available." I don't know if that is any help, I am not sure why our screens look different. I hope you find a solution! Please let us know if you do! Good Luck!

Great question! Since I am enrolled in managed payments, I can not experiment with this to give you an exact answer. But, before I enrolled in eBay Managed Payments, anytime I sent a refund it was through PayPal so I would suggest looking into eBay refunds using PayPal videos that other people have made on KZbin. Sorry I could not give an exact answer on this!

Also when you didn't have enough money from PP and you transferred from your bank to PP, there was a fee for that transfer, I learned the hard way, perhaps around $3ish. Wonder if this MP will be better.
