Another Update - Per ECFMG, In order to make life easier for most IMGS, for the first few years, even if your country does not have wfme accreditation after 2024, you can still apply with pre 2024 criteria (WDOMS Post 2024 + Sponsor Notes). Similarly for the first few years post 2024, even if your country gets WFME accredited, the individual medical school must also be in WDOMS + Have Sponsor Notes.

Hello, is it enough for the country to be listed as accredited by the WFME recognized national agency or should my specific university be accredited. For example I study in Romania, and Romania is listed as accredited by the IAAR agency, which is the WFME recognized agency. Is that enough? or should my uni specifically be accredited by IAAR? So basically if a country is accredited, does that mean all uni inside the country are eligible for ecfmg or should each uni be accredited individually?

If i have completed my ecfmg registration as in this video up to step 2 i.e. notery cam process do i also need to submit application for usmle step 1 within December 2023 to be eligible for giving step1 and 2 exam and go into matching process later in future or if i have completed up to ecfmg notery and it is verified, then i can apply online usmle step 1 application later after 2024 also. Please clear this thing i mean do i need to have (150+1155 )$ before December 2023 or is it still ok if i have 150$ till December 2023😂

Hello doctor, I graduated in 2022 and I got a degree in a bachelor of healthcare in general medicine like that from Kazakhstan and the college from which I graduated is EC FMG certified and that's why I applied for ECFMG initial process. Now my question is one of my colleagues asked for degree verification by there EPIC and he got to know about that. This degree is not willing to go for USMLE and now I am worried about this. I just passed MCI and now working as an intern doctor in India. But I have questions that after this internship I will get the completion of it so may I be eligible for usmle fun basis of internship completion? Hi! I had a question regarding the application process. If I get my ID and fill the form 186 is it compulsory for me to give the exam ASAP or can I wait for like 1 or 2 years? Basically I'm in 2nd Year MBBS. I want to get the ID and certificate just in case I'm unable to give the exams cuz of the rule changes. Hi Manik, I'm a subscriber and find your content really useful! I have a question regarding the 2024 changes. I study MBBS in UK and our general medical council is not WFME accredited. Which part of ECFMG 'application' needs to be completed before Jan 1 2024? Is it just form 186, and if so, does the application need to be sent or approved before Jan 1 2024? Or is it the full application to register for step 1, verification of med school, and attaining scheduling permit that needs to be finished before Jan 1 2024? If it's the latter, I would have to select my eligibility period before 2024 and this has implications, so it would be life-saving to know. Please let me know the answer or where I could find it, thank you!
