I like the slow motion rendition - like to see that in every video.

This is a great video. Well explained & an excellent tool to use to build a consistent swing.

Excellent video. Will practice in the range today. I think I am keeping my elbow too close to my body at the release. I need to let it go and as you said, try to get it pointing to where the ball was positioned.

thanks Alistair. @6:49 so it seems from p6 to impact, the hands & club don't replicate how they moved in the takeaway? this is the concept that continues to bog me down. Is the move to impact just a reverse of our takeaway?
@adaviesgolf3 жыл бұрын
No it’s not quite the same, body will be more open, more pressure shift and to match this the club head more behind the hands
@77bovi3 жыл бұрын
@@adaviesgolf thx, I know impact the body is different from address but never thought that would influence the arms & hands to be different in the downswing... wonder why. Concept mismatch. so takeaway & backswing is to set us up for the right movement in the downswing (or perhaps the right top of backswing), but our hands & arms (body I know doesnt) don't retrace the backswing coming down?

It should be slightly different to be dynamic but can be the same depending on ball flight that is desired

Sir, Thank you...my question is does the right elbow remain lower unit or through impact. I’m a true fan!

Great video. I was under the impression the shoulders should follow the arms to avoid an over the top move. You indicate in the video that everything should turn together. Can you elaborate on the proper shoulder movement? Thanks Alistair.
@adaviesgolf6 жыл бұрын
Hi Dave, yes trying to feel the body and arms release together rather than arms only. But the acceleration would be torso then arms, so at impact arms going slightly faster. Legs would lead to avoid over the top. Thanks al

If you press the three dots in upper right corner you can pick playback speed and slow it down yourself.

Cf. John Jacobs and his insistence that the essence of solving the swing for any given player was learning how to sync the turn of the upper body with the free swing of the arms. Neither, in his view, was dominant or dispensable. It's a matter of swinging while you're turning, or if you prefer, turning while you're swinging. But both have to happen.

+stephen f of course but there are many different methods and as long as the compinumatch you can be successful

I notice during the practice swings the trail elbow remains down well past and through impact; is this the case? Thank you

Yes my exit is a little higher than I want it too be. Back a little tight not helping and need practice! Thanks James

One minor caveat: The arms may be "continually rotating" on the downswing, but the rotation really isn't at a steady or even rate. That thing you hear about "quarter of the way down, quarter rotated back to square; halfway down, half rotated back to square" is just not true at all. Not for any good swing ever.

Many different release patterns demonstrated by the best players in the world, has to match ball flight and players ability to open the body up
