How to Remove a Citroen C3 or DS3 Airbag (Replacing DS3 Steering Wheel)

I'd made this video once before, but swapping from a standard wheel to a performance line (just red and white stitching, still chrome)
Hopefully this video is of use to you! I hadn't seen any guides put together properly before. Best of luck, sometimes the leather gets worn or scratched, especially with drivers wearing rings.
I always prefer to replace with a good condition wheel rather than using covers that could be dangerous, slip, or just generally feel bulky.

Not got a Citroen and have no desire for one but still enjoyed watching and glad your showing people how to do things when there is nothing else out there! there isnt anything for my car apart from stage 3 reviews which is no use to me...

Good morning, what wire should be removed to simply deactivate the air bag please? Is it the black wire with the blue connector located in the center of the steering wheel or the red one? Thanks in advance

Good video, I always struggle with removing the air bag. Just so you know there is a procedure to disconnecting the battery, you could get BSI issue if you just disconnect any old way. You're meant to open the bonnet, remove keys from the car, close all the doors and wait 3 minutes for the BSI to go in to sleep mode and then you should ok to disconnect.

Oh really? Good to know! I'll keep in mind the next time I need to take the battery off. I haven't had issues so far this way but there's always a "not yet" added to the end of that, so I'd rather keep it that way 👍🏻

Because everything is the same the bolt, o just dont know if the “socket” that links the steering wheel to the wheels is the same

Thank you! It's an original DS3 performance steering wheel. I got lucky and found somebody breaking one for spare parts. I usually look through eBay and Facebook forums

Pointless fitting a whole performance wheel as the carbon bit on the bottom is not real carbon but plastic and it just clips into the normal wheel instead of the chrome coloured plastic one. Should have saved money by just removing your standard plastic chrome coloured one (it's not metal) and wrapping in carbon.

I had the real ds3 performance, so it was just fitting the original wheel again. Plus, the deal that I got on it was less than a standard wheel 🤷‍♂️ Pretty sure it's a real carbon layer as well - I heard from one of the other club members that the interior carbon pieces on a performance are real. Never tested though! But you'll never get a perfect finish if you wrap or hydrodip it to try and match - better to go for original

@@connxr None of the pieces on a DS3 Performance are real carbon, interior or exterior, they're all plastic. The only real carbon pieces are the exterior pieces on a DS3 Racing which is the first generation.
