That was simple, but my Fiat shower drain was sealed with solder instead of having a castle nut to hold it; which makes it a "Much" bigger headache!

Good idea. Not sure if the WD-40 would help. In most cases, the gasket/seal under the flange would prevent any of it from reaching the threads.

I don't think it was meant to reach the threads. I believe the WD40 was meant to soak the plumber's putty or silicone and other crap that sits between the flange he is trying to remove and the shower pan.

$12 drain wrench at Lowes or HOME Depot. Waaaaaayyy easier
