That cable in the engine fuse box that you’re telling everyone to yank up... you’re doing it wrong. Remove the bottom cover and squeeze (both sides)at the bottom of the plastic around that cable and it will effortlessly slide off.

Here's a rough list of what to do! 1) Disable anti-theft and airbags 2) Remove hood, side panels, under covers 3) Drain coolant, engine oil, trans 4) disconnect throttle and cc cable 5) Disconnect brake booster hose and ground straps 6) “Remove check connector and vacuum sensor, then A/C VSV” 7) Remove water fill tube and charcoal canister 8) Remove relay box, ignition coil/igniter. Disconnect engine wire. 9) Disconnect engine wire from trunk, then starter cable. 10) disconnects coolant inlet and outlet hose, disconnect fuel inlet and return line 11a) M/T only: Disconnect shift cables 11b) A/T only: disconnect oil cooler lines 12) remove front exhaust pipe (part located between the header and muffler) 13) remove drive axles 14) remove idler pulley and A/C compressor (do not disconnect hoses) 15) disconnect speedo cable 16) remove rear engine mounting insulator, then the front (rear must be removed first) 17a) M/T only: remove front engine mount bracket and release clutch cylinder 17b) A/T only: disconnect shift linkage 18) Remove rear engine mount bracket and left engine mount stay 18a) M/T only: after removing left stay, remove lateral control rod 19) remove air box bracket 20) support engine from above by engine hangers 21) remove remaining engine mounts and brackets left to right 22) remove engine/transaxle assembly

Cool works! I have a question about replacing the timing belt do you need special tools to do the job yourself?

Good work. I did it the hard way with the engine still in the car. I would suggest changing the idler pulleys on the car as well as the water pump.

That look between you at 6:11 is priceless. "Ah, Lachlan, what's the torque specification for axle nuts?" "No prob, we didn't even need the breaker bar!"

Aww come on bro!!!! Gotta do the engine reinstall 👍🤣 you guys are legends Maybe consider replacing some of the awkward bits like oil pump o rings, manifold gaskets and clean the fuel injectors whilst manifold is off...manually cleaning fuel injectors is essential

You got a video on how you lift the back of the MR2 so you can slide out the engine from underneath the mr2?

I did my timing belt and oil pump seal in without dropping the engine. 3sgte.

Commendable. I can do an Mr2 2nd gen in a weekend, that is, unless I come across stripped bolts at the fire wall. The Aw11, however, I can do easily in a Saturday.

I recently replaced oil pump gasket, valve cover gasket and oil pan gasket. Mark the timing best I could but in replacement I got it 1 tooth off. Timing is retarded by one tooth.. figure it would be simpler and more accurate to take the motor out and get it right the first time.. and love somebody else has a easy quick fix for this. If not that is my next step. My engine removal.
