Same story... different tag. The bigger piece was on the inside of a pantleg and was missed when I checked out. I browsed a few other methods before settling on this one because it's the most practical. At first I thought you were going to use the bag to catch any ink-splosions lol. I did mine over a box, took less than a minute, no ink. Thanks for the great video!

I actually purchased 2 baseball mitts for my nephews and while going thru security didn't know why the bell was sounding. Since we had so many other items, they didn't want to go thru the whole cart. I got home still wondering why the security bell went off and alaz!!!! The cashier forgot to take off the security tag from the mitts! Got on here (obviously) there is always something for everyone and yours is the first video I saw!! I did the same thing you did and POP goes the tag!!!!!!! I was pretty skeptical about this method but it actually worked for me! It didn’t come off on the first try like in the video. It took me about 20mins of twisting the plastic bag for it to pop off. I also put my jacket in a plastic bag with only the security tag exposed just in case the ink did explode. A little bit of ink came out when the tag came off so I’m glad I had it in the plastic bag. It wasn’t a whole lot though. Anyways, thanks for this vid, I really didn’t want to buy magnets like most of the other videos suggest. TL;DR: this method worked for me, it just took about 20mins of twisting.

To be safe you can always freeze it first over night as a back up!! (Edit) I just tried it with a shirt (from PacSun) and with frozen ink. It completely worked and was super simple!

I’m a pro booster so I come across this problem a lot but the way you did it is way easier than the way I was doing it!! 🤣🤣 the only thing I did different was taking the bag and wrapping it over the ink before starting, that way if the ink happens to bust it says inside the bag!!

Thank you very much! I bought a cloth by internet mall of USA(Finish line). I got this security tag attached. Customer center offered me to exchange for free. But, I live in south Korea so There is additional international shipping cost on me for exchange. And it doesn't make sense to pay. So searched many footage in KZbin but, all of them by fire and knife cutting. But, my one's plastic part was keep rolling so I couldn't cut it. Finally I've done it as your footage like a magic. It's very helpful. :)

Helpful tip Neodymium magnets I think it has to have somewhere around 250 lbs of pull to separate the security tags so a decent sized magnet maybe a couple of inches and it has to be neodymium available at your local hardware store your moms refrigerator magnets definitely won’t work good luck 🤙🏼

Just bought a brand new $60.00 Nautica shirt with all its' original tags still attached at the Salvation Army Thrift Store for $7.50 when I got home and found the security tag was still attached. I tried exactly what you did and...Voila!...Off popped the security tag. I wish I know about this earlier in my life. I find these a lot in thrift stores and I avoid them at all costs. Not any more. usually the ink breaks but since this has the old backing that you need to use the hand held gun to remove you can just use a sharp razor blade / box cutter cut the nub off between the two indentions then use someithng to pry off the pin plate and boom off the other more sophisticated tags that need the machine to remove all you need a powerful magnet to disengage the pin

Okay it broke on me but just a lil stained my jacket so as soon as it’s as tight as can be remember to wiggle the tag to try and get the metal to end up snapping and it’ll probably help to keep the ink from soaking in your clothes if you try this under running water

I have Asperger's. I still don't understand how this works still. are you just wrapping the plastic around the security part that's filled with ink and glass? or are you doing something to the back as well. When I did this, just pulled the backup really tight to the fabric and nothing popped off. are you supposed to apply for us to the plastic and yank it? I don't get what you did.
