I'm interested in possibly putting newer gauges in my 78 the original are mechanical? Can the faces just be replaced or the entire wiring? Recommend? Or what ?

Hi Neal, I have seen it done but It is not something I would do. It will require lots of time to rewire. If you wanted to give the gauges a newer / modern look they do sale this kit. www.whitegauges.net/products/1974%252d1978-Ford-Mustang-II-White-Face-Gauges.html

Hey man thanks for this.. any idea where I can blast some wd40 to quite down the speedometer? We just got a 76 2 days ago it sounds like an old clock haha

Maybe if you can remove that cable from the cluster and place a tiny bit of grease on the shaft that spins. I am pretty sure it will quiet down then.
