Great video. We contacted our phone company and stopped our land line service years ago. Now I would like to tile the backsplash where one of these jacks are. I assume since I called and cancelled our landline years ago, there is no low voltage power going into the box? I would like your thoughts thanks.

I have a smaller one coming from the base board and attached to the trim. Should go into the crawl space and pull the wires down or should i take off the trim and cut them flush

Jim, i dudnt see u put drywall tape along the cracks. You'd also benefit from a wider spatula that covers the width of the repair. check out vancouver carpenter as he has great professional tips of drywall repairs

Is this connected to a live line? Do I need to shut the power off first?

It is low voltage in the wires but if it is live you should turn it off or cut the wires one at a time and tape with electrical tape.

How do you make sure the wires are disconnected? It worked and it is in my kitchen..but a big eye sore...i have another one in the living room...i wonder if they are tied in? Any thoughts

I have a faceplate with 2 phone and 1 coax cable jacks. I don’t see any screws. I have a blank plate to put over it once it’s off and I disconnect the jacks.

Jim, easier if u just but a strip of wood bend the hole and fill the hole with scrap piece of drywall. no cutting this way
