Do not clean and put back in! I did this years ago with one of my cars, and then I had to replace a valve cover gasket. The cleaning I did made the pcv valve stick, excess internal pressure pushed out that gasket. Luckily for me it wasn’t the rear main seal. It will push out the weakest seal. Purchase pcv valve from an out of state Toyota dealer (on line) along with 6 oil filters. This will minimize the shipping costs. There are on line dealers in Massachusetts, Texas, Alabama, etc. that will discount your purchase and make millions doing this, some research is needed here. Thanks…Jim

@@brotherkossi My local dealer wanted $19.71 for the PCV valve and installed $695.00 Ridiculous! This is a discount, normally they charge 4.8 hours labor ($205/hr. Labor + part=$695). He said this was discounted from the 4.8 hours. A good work around, this can be done in less than an hour, a good price would less than $250.00….. Your $8+ price is what I can get this price on line plus shipping & taxes. This on a 4 cylinder engine, V6 would be different, could be more, or same.

@@jimpie231 I understand the book says 3.5 hours to remove the intake mainifold,... to access the PCV valve. I did remove only the right front wheel and plastic inner fender skirt (4 clips) to check the valve on my RAV4 today. Never did see the hole I removed it from and never saw it until it was removed. I could have seen it if the eyes on the end of 1 hand were working. 🤣 Not a nice location to access and re-install a valve..

Man I’ll tell ya he makes it look easy. I did this on my 2013 Camry and it was far from easy. Please make sure u atleast have some experience working on cars before doing this. Taking it off isn’t hard. Putting it on is. I recommend using papertowel in the socket so the PCV doesn’t fall when u try to thread the new one in.

I would just replace it as it costs usually not much . And you can't see inside of what gunk is present . And I believe if it sticks closed it can build up abnormal pressure , causing ?

Good detail in video showing removal, could use some more details showing medium frame shot of how the mechanic needs to be positioned. As we age we sometimes find it harder to bend, crawl, roll over when under a car body!👍

That's a tight spot... your ratchet barely fit. That's where a joint socket comes in handy. Great short, nice cuts and filming!

Replace the PVC valve on every Dodge I've ever owned...$5-8 and 5 minutes in the driveway. Toyota, 1 1/2 hours shop labor and $50 for the valve.

Not all Toyotas. Changing the one on some BMW engines requires you to remove the entire intake manifold.

Your are correct ! I was given a recommendation for pcv , with oil change for $526 . I said WHAT ? the girls 3 1/2 labor , then she changed to $234 . I said I watched video less than hour , she said takes 1/2 hr labor , I said really, sounds like scam , young girl just kind of smiled ,

German engineering slowly taking over Toyota..don't believe me, do a spark plug change on a 2014 prius v..the entire windshield wiper assembly has to be taken apart just to do a sparkplug change..what used to be 30 minute job the most becomes an hour longer at the very least

Plug change on a Nissan note, inlet manifold has to come off and gasket is "non re-usable" and prone to leaking if you try......

Most people would say if you going to go that far and take the spark plug out change that bad boy let's spray it and put it back in I don't know about that another hard one to swallow I guess you want to be cheap I guess it's a good way to go but if I get to the spark plug pull it out hell I'll be trying to change all up
