If you're busy- you are busy- your doing a favor for us you're a excellent mechanic. I have a 2010 xb automatic- being charged $1281- and I had to supply the transmission- for $515. Good video.

I was gonna pull the transmission on one of these for a family member but after watching this I think I’m good without , seems like hell on my driveway

Also I recommend supporting the engine before detaching the transmission.

Jon, I have an engine support rig that will support the motor with nothing attached. Another Harbor Freight winner.

Hello monster2269 thanks for subscribing and nope just make sure it’s the same transmission and all the connections are the same. And I’m glad this video helped you. Sorry for the delay in responding.

For removing: remove the axle nut before removing the lower balljoint to prevent the axle to come apart internally.

I have about 40 air tools and a lot of experience with Honda cars. Bought the tranny; very heavy. Thanks for the help Jon.

Jon, you did a good job. I own a 08' & 09' Scion Xb. You are the only mechanic who has posted a transmission pull video. My 08 Scion Xb auto trans is slipping when going from reverse to drive. Found a good replacement in my state for $575.00, out of a 2012 model. Will I have to get the ECU re-coded after I swap the trans, or it just plug-N-play? Thanks for your time Jon. I subscribed.

Hello monster2269 thanks for subscribing! I accidentally replied on the comments on this video but generally speaking it should be a plug and play. Just make sure it’s the same transmission and all the connections are the same. Sorry for the delay in responding.

Jon what do you charge for a 2013 Scion XB tranny replacement if I provided the tranny? Where you located?

Would this be the same for a 5 spd? Got a 08 xb and I'm having trouble putting aa it in back in because of clearance. Did you remove the whole front support bracket to make more space?

What do you call the part where cv axle goes into?.
@jontheyoutubemechanic2136 Жыл бұрын
It should be the CVT Constant Variable Transmission.

Dude what the fluff!! Why didnt you mention your supposed to disconnect the 6 bolts from the torque converter before you can drop the tranny?? The only thing you have on here is putting the bolts back on after youve already put the new tranny in.. man im over here going crazy trying to find out why i cant separate the tranny and engine from eachother. FUCK!! i hope i didnt break anything while trying to yank these apart.. smh 😠

Actually if you watch the video starting at 1:00 until about 1:20 it’s there

I was calling it fly wheel bolts so my lingo was a little off but I did mean torque converter bolts. If it threw you off I apologize my videos are made to help/guide not necessarily an exact step by step procedure.
@jontheyoutubemechanic21364 ай бұрын
However speaking of flywheel bolts you would not even have access to flywheel bolts which is on a manual transmission and even then the transmission would have to be removed to even access flywheel bolts.

Yeah no worries bro. Shit was driving me fucking CRAZY!! For like half a day I was shaking and prying with everything I had trying to figure out why in the hell the tranny wouldn't separate from the engine.. and yeah I'm totally new at this car stuff not sure why I thought I could take this project on but I'm almost done. I've got the new tranny lined up with the engine hanging on a block and tackle pulley syetem and I'm just about to push them together and attach the flex plate to the torque converter. 🤞😬🤞. My cheap ass should have just forked over the cash and got it done by a professional 😅

@@Gonzb023 I did that too once upon a time. And I feel like videos make it look easy there’s also so many variables on a car even when there the same year,make,and model they’ll be different because chances are a cars been worked on by someone and you literally never know what they did or didn’t do and usually you don’t find out until you work on it.
