How to Remove and Replace a BMW X3 (G01) Mirror & Mirror Cap

I made this video on how to remove and replace the mirror caps on my 2018+ BMW X3 (G01) to hopefully help others.
I have done a few small cosmetic mods on my car myself over lockdown, and used youtube to show me how.
I tried searching online for a specific video or help for an X3 but couldn't find any.....so I made one myself.

I just did it accordingly on the facelift model and it’s really that easy. 15 minutes. Nothing broke, the caps fit just as well as the original ones. Thanks for the instructions!

Great video and just ordered these for my 40d. I think you having a gloss black finish really helps with the extra mods you have fitted. Not sure the front splitter or side skirts would look quite as good on my photonic Blue 🤔👍🏻

Tried this and was worried my mirrors would break. Luckily checked the comments. No need to remove mirror, trim tool around the caps and they pop off easily. Ones off ebay did not fit my x3 facelift 2022 model though!

Did you have to replace your front Kidney Grille to get the M logo? Trying to find this online 👍🏻

The badge didn’t come in my double slat grille so I ordered a cheap x3m grille badge from Ali express that fit on my grilles (so that I had the fixing for the grille badge. I then removed the cheap looking x3m badge (as looked cheap and mine isn’t an X3M), ordered a gloss black “m” fender badge from eBay and stuck that on the grille badge fixing. 😀. Subtle but looks quite good in my opinion haha.

I’ve the standard gloss black grille but realise from looking I’d need that double slate type before doing the same. I’ve ordered the wing mirrors so that’s one job done and then I’ll sort the grilles 😉👍🏻

Yeah a little bit, but only noticeable if the window is open. It is the same on the genuine X3M mirrors also. 👍🏻

Tried this and shattered my mirror. It’s not necessary to remove. Did the other side just prying off the cap and it worked perfectly. I recommend not doing this!
