Great tutorial!! Thank you!! Glad you mentioned Mohs, bonus. I killed my 8 month old MohsEvo, with Energo, trying to clear up all the mineralization on the hood. I was very surprised. Just sprayed it on, wipe with Purifica, dead flat! lol, immediately did a ph neutral wash, dead flat. I was originally thinking maybe the breakdown of the minerals clogged the coating, but that paint was virgin now, squeaky clean. So now I’m going to mechanically remove the rest of the coating. First time for that. I was thinking Blueberry pad & Cut&Finish, but know thinking yellow Rupes, and Perfect Finish to start. This video just made it all look simple. Thank you!

Great video! Question - I wrapped my car in XPEL stealth and ceramic coated that about 5 years ago. The coating seems mostly done and I’d like to re-coat it. Do I need to strip the coating first or can I just re-coat it as it is?

Hey Coleton, my question is kind of in line with this video's topic. I recently over applied DIY Detail QuickBeads on my wife's car and it left some horrible streaking all over the car. The product is super stubborn and I'm wondering how you would go about getting it removed without doing a polish. Thank you!

Shoot an email to Yvan, haven’t played much with quickbeads. My assumption is too much product was used!

Off topic question, I have a new Lexus GX 550, what should i use to wipe and protect the interior-it has a few different materials to deal with, along with soft touch on the dash...thanks!

do I need to remove the ceramic coating if it is still in good condition after say 2 years? What happens if I was just to re-apply over top of a 2 year old coating, or even say 1 year coating as long as still looked good? thanks!

Hi Coleton. Awesome video! I was doing some searching on KZbin about removing ceramic coating and came across your video. I have a few questions that you may be able to help me lol. I have a clien that had his truck ceramic coated and has a few high spots. Its a pro grade by Ceramic Pro (Ion and 9H) I'm not sure if hand polishing some of those high spots (already fully cured for more than 3 weeks) with mild compound and soft pad will do the trick. Lets say i do have to go the route of mechanically polisihing that entire panel with a DA polisher, would a yellow rupes foam pad or yellow wool pad do the trcik or i will have to use a pad a bit more cutting power like the rupes "Blue wool" pad? Thank you in advance

Hey there! Start least aggressive and go to most aggressive needed to remove, high spots can be tricky. It potentially needs wet-sanding, but I’d think going wool or microfiber with compound it should do the trick. Hope this helps

Do I need to remove ceramic coating before installing my spoiler?

Great video. I didn’t know it needed a second step to remove the ceramic coating. Are you saying to use the car pro twice around the entire vehicle?
@KiloRomeoOscar5 ай бұрын
I believe he is referring to a refinement set. Usually compounding is only necessary with a professional/accredited correctly applied coating (no high spots), just as the principle in a normal paint correction you always want to refine after compounding to remove any haze/micro marring and to get as much gloss as possible from the finish With the enthusiast/Prosumer coatings, a Rupes yellow and KC f6 is probably the perfect combo/starting point, a set that's between 20-40 seconds (depending on technique/machine/conditions/clearcoat) will be enough to remove those coatings and achive some light correction. The compounding stage of this video is exactly what you are looking for as an indicator (the visible difference/hazy/cloudy border)if your strategy is working for removing a coating. It's an awesome video dude knows his stuff.

I’ve just applied MOHs tonight. And I noticed it went very crystal like in small little sections? Almost looked like bird poo etching? The room was very humid. Why and what’s caused this? Most of the car is alright but just odd little crystal like bits almost looks similar to a stone chip? Thank you

I'd rather stick with one year coatings. That way I can still clay and lightly polish without wondering if I'm abrading away at my multi year coating.
@jefferrrson1x5 ай бұрын
Man this is a good point. Underrated.
@adrianlawrence72243 ай бұрын
@@TC-zf1ji Why not ? Because the coating will repel all contaminants ? It may do a decent job but to what extent? In the real world things are going to bond, even to a coating. I've never heard a manufacturer go on record and state, claying is prohibited, or simply unadvised, if your car is coated. Bottom line: The more exposed a vehicle is to the environment, the more certain you can be that particles will stick to it. A coating is not a force field. That's my experience at least.

Once you go Ceramic you need to keep applying it if not your paint will get dull. Polishing it will not work without removing the coating.😂
