Thank you! Edit: Turns out, my AC500 05' has the white cap cv axles with the ball button. I found out when I tried looking for the big retaining ring and noticed it didn't exist. I ended up taking each bearing ball out by turning the bearing and pushing each ball out from the inside. Once each ball was out, the bearing housing was able to slide out. I almost skipped removing the bearing and just replacing the boot, but I'm glad I didn't. I found a lot of tiny rocks in the bearings. Luckily, they don't appear scratched. That little ball button does appear to be on some 05' ACs though. Maybe they started with the 500 series though. Either way, your video still helped me dive in and find the solution. Thanks again!

I have a 2005 500 4wd and like mentioned, this model did not have the pin that you push in before pulling out. However you to still push the axle all the way in, line it up in a straight line from the differential and give it a yank to pull the entire half axle out. Make sure the quad is properly secured and stable before yanking. I just pull both rears out a few minutes ago and replaced with new axles. Old axles are ok but need CV boots and then they will be spares.

Did a CV boot on my 2015 400 this morning and it is the same as yours. I also watched some DIY video's and it seems that the white inner sleeves are the ones that you have to push in on the shaft and pull on the sleeve to remove it.

How did you pull and spin
@whynotjusttry54013 ай бұрын
Put one foot up against the ATV, grab the axel shaft, turn and give it a hard quick pull. It will come out. Try to keep the CV joint straight. As you pull.

Mines a 2007 but it’s the same but I keep turning and pulling but it won’t come out
@whynotjusttry5401 Жыл бұрын
Did you manage to get it out? If it’s not the one with the ball that you have to push in and hold it and then pull out, you will just have to pull harder. They can be hard to pull out. Sometimes you have to push in and slam on it when pulling.

I have the same machine. It’s stuck in 2x4. I can hear the actuator when I switch from 4x4 to 2x4 but nothing happens. I looked closer and I see the boot is ripped on the front driveshaft that goes to the front differential. (Not sure if I’m using right words here. Lol) have you had this issue?
@whynotjusttry54013 жыл бұрын
Yes, I have had an issue with it not going into 4x4. I had to take apart the actuator. The actuator actually cracked in actuator case. It sounded like it was working, but it was not engaging. I actually used some electrical tape and crazy glue to hold it together, as the replacement part was a crazy price. That was about 4 years ago and have not had another issue with it since. I have other videos on how to change a CV boot if you need some ideas on what to do for it. Let me know if you have any other questions. I’m always happy to help.
