I have watched your video twice now and will say that you have given me the confidence to try this myself. I bought an 06 Lexy GS430 several months ago in very fine condition with just minor cosmetic flaws, this clear bra being the biggest part of that. A guy is coming over today to take out a few minor dime-sized door dings with his paint-less dent removal system. If he is also willing to tackle the bra job for a rea$onable amount then he can have it. Otherwise I will buy the steam machine and jump on it with my own, old arthritic hands. Thank you for a very good presentation which includes the equipment needed, techniques, etc. for dummies like me jump into it.

A great video. The other videos using heat guns were too much of a bad risk in damaging the paint and I'd bet most viewers were like myself who just wanted to do it on their cars. This steam method was not only safer but seemed to work a lot better! Thanks for the insight!

Steamers are the way to to go for removing old stubborn window tint as well. Especially on back windows with defrost elements. The adhesive stays on the film rather than sticking to the windows.

I love the assurance this video gave me. I purchased a 2015 Lexus it was shipped to me so I didn’t see it in person until it arrived and I say this and had a fit. I thought it was a scratch or shotty repair work until they told me it could be removed. And now I see they can do it without damaging my vehicle 🙌🏽🩷

I'm trying to remove a clear bra from a 2015 Venza right now and it's just flaking off. I'm using a heat gun because I have no steamer, but it's only getting me so far. This is frustrating.

Steamer works better for sure. It probably just bad PPF if it is just flaking off though. Good luck been there before no fun

It’s most likely very baked on. I would recommend the steamer and a PLASTIC razor blade scraper tool, also worth checking out Rapid Remover Vinyl Letter removal

Had the same problem. Used an eraser wheel you attach to a drill. Took forever but finally got it off. Way faster then pulling off bits at a time. You can KZbin a bunch of videos using it for cars and adhesives.

Thank you! Absolutely the best video I have seen on removing clear bra. Please share your recommendation on the steam device. Can I buy one or rent one?

I removed mine after letting it sit in the sun on a 90 degree day. Came off like butter with no glue left.

What about a very cracked and checked old film protectorate that will not peel off like that

Just take your time and use a steamer. Put some headphones in because it's going to take awhile.

What is the Steamer you are using? Got a link?

This doesn’t work for clear bra that has been on a car for 20 years and it’s cracked all over the place. The only way to do that is with a heat gun a plastic scraper and goo gone to remove the adhesive left behind.

@m2mdetail7813 жыл бұрын
Yes super hot. What steamer did you buy?
@davidmcknight79983 жыл бұрын
It just says heavy duty steam cleaner. I’m returning it and I’m going to get the one that you have. Thanks a lot for your help.

Use a steamer. If this doesn't work get CarPro TarX that will help remove the residue of the adhesive.

Since heat rises, would it not be better to work from the bottom up?
