Thank you for this! You never know who's going to stumble across a vid years later. I've been afraid to try this on my 21 year old e39 worrying there were pins that would snap off or worse, that the paint underneath would be discolored but it wasn't. Most importantly, this was the LAST piece of chrome on the car. It looks so clean now and took about 2 mins (then another hour to get the residue off but still!)

This was a great video - concise and informative. Thank you. I prefer the debadged look. Some might still want to know which model it is but those who care will know which by looking at the exhaust tips which are conveniently at the same end of the car as the badge (unless modded and perhaps depending on the year and whether or not it's a Euro or American spec version), the 318i and 320i have a single tip on one side, 328i has a double tip on one side, 335i has a single tip on both sides, M3 has double tips on both sides). Those who don't know probably don't care or haven't been curious enough for whatever reason to look into it; they'll be the ones who are like "wow, you have a BMW" and won't know the difference between a 2000 318i and a 2005 330i even when they're sitting behind the wheel because they're going to drive it the same way they would drive their Toyota Carolla.

Thanks, this is helpful. I have a Nissan 370Z and had to have the rear bumper and rear hatch repainted, so I told the body shop not to replace the stock 370Z and Nissan hamburger badges. The car looks very nice in a clean condition, it's an all-black car. I'm going to apply a single blacked out script Z in place of the Nissan hamburger, since there is an indentation on the bumper that requires something to fill it. I'm going to do the same thing on the front with the stock Nissan hamburger emblem and replace it with a single glossy black Z.

Nice video; good instructions. Just one thing, I recommend wearing rubber gloves when you're using the "dissolve-it" and the "degreaser" and anything else. The cumulative effect can be Cancer....yea, after 20-30-40 years of "just a little bit", you can develop pancreatic or liver cancer. Wear gloves...

@justinbuice5 жыл бұрын
Just out of curiosity, what's wrong with driving a diesel BMW? They extremely rare here in the US. Well, diesel cars in general are almost non existent here lol
@RahatKhan-si5kz5 жыл бұрын
Justin Buice The diesel variants are actually better once remapped etc. 320d better than the petrol all the way up to 3L, maybe 3.5petrol will be faster due to the weight of engine. But that being said that’s why UK is infested with the Diesel engines rather than the petrol because it’s faster and more economical. Only reason you opt into the petrol version here is because you don’t like the sound of the Diesel engine. But respectfully the Diesel engines will outshine the petrol for the average size engine
