Your video literally saved me! I was getting all kinds of false alarms about viruses, especially from McAfee in particular, which was so confusing and anxiety-inducing. I am very grateful! Neither Norton Antivirus or Malwarebytes were getting rid of this pop up and my machine was virtually unusable. This simple fix stopped the issue immediately. Thank you!

Thank you SO MUCH. Everything you stated worked PERFECTLY on my PC with Win 11, after I suddenly received MULTIPLE, NON-STOP (fake) McAfee ads stating my pc was infected with multiple viruses. On the last step on the 'notifications' page, under, "Allowed to send notifications" I only had FaceBook, (which I also disabled) AND something else, which DID NOT say McAfee, but something else. I didn't write down the name prior to removing it, but when I did so, the fake McAfee popups immediately CEASED. Bless you!!!

Thank you, these pop-ups were driving me mad and thought I'd never get rid of them. I almost resorted to a complete reinstall of Windows until I did a KZbin search and found this tutorial. You were right. it took just a few minutes and my headaches were gone. Thanks again.

Mcafee virus started to pop up on my wifes computer today. Found your tutorial and it worked right away. I found 2 notification scripits that were basically just a bunch of jumbled up characters that spelled nothing. Blocked them and immediately POP ups stopped. Thank you for the video and information.

Brilliant. very greatfull indeed. Have not got Norton Installed, so I knew that these ads were fake. Ads were appearing every 30 seconds or so, and very annoying, as couldn't get away from them. Clear and easy advice.

It worked! I even had Microsoft on my computer trying to figure it out and they couldn’t. They kept trying to get Mcafee itself to stop sending me notifications. And I kept telling them it wasn’t actually Mcafee. Thanks for info! Really appreciate it. I thought I had a virus.

THANK YOU. i have a different antivirus so i knew they were fake, but they kept popping up. they said that i had 5 viruses so i scanned my pc on my other antivirus software and i deleted them. the popups were still showing so i searched this up. you are a lifesaver

Thank you! I had the Fake McAfee pop-ups on Microsoft EDGE browser; your instructions to remove in the Chrome settings worked just as well for EDGE.

Thank you so much! My laptop screen actually turned black at one stage. I thought I was going to be down hundreds of $ to buy a new which as a single Mother I wouldn't have been able to afford plus with the cost of living crisis we are all experiencing. You are a legend! P.S for anyone else who tries this method it also works with normal Google as I don't have Google Chrome so I was worried about that. Cheers mate 👍

Thank you!! I am sick of EVERYONE'S pop ups!! But I kept wondering why I was getting notifications from McAfee and Norton when I don't have it or claims that my credit card was denied when McAfee tried to update, etc. And sure enough, in the notifications was the culprit.

I paused the video and went through and found two sites that kept opening (one seemed to be a fake Yahoo, and I got notification after notification. I have no idea who you are, but I just subbed. I will have this in my YT history for later if I forget.

Thank you very much for this video about removing these dreaded pop-ups. I do not use McAfee so I knew they were fake. They were not present on the other browsers that I use, just Chrome so I removed Chrome then reinstalled it and they still returned. I followed the very clear steps in your video and they will not be reappearing!

It helped! Thank you so much! You are a godsend! I have two Chromebooks and one of them got the fake warning and I panicked and I fixed it! And I’m trying to protect my other Chromebook as well since that one was a replacement for the one I used to have prior to my mother passing away in April of 2022. Because I got a cracked screen and trying to protect that Chromebook and prevent myself from malicious websites on both of my Chromebooks as well as my Windows laptop. Thank you so much.

I was helping my dad remotely with the same issue and your video came in handy. However, he did not have Chrome installed - only Edge - so I explored within Edge (since it now based on Chromium) and found the same notification settings although not in the same place as in Chrome. It would be good if you added this for Edge too.

Thank you so much for this video! Worked perfectly but my question is (and I didn't see it addressed below), isn't what's causing the pop-ups a virus in and of itself? I did a scan and I didn't find anything but I was trying to figure out how this BS scam works. I know that I accidentally hit a bad website but still wanted to understand the process. In any case, thank you for the very simple fix and straightforward video.
