What you pulled out of the tank had a round top, mine is oval and only looks like a sending unit / fuel level sensor. Having trouble finding my fuel pump. '88 carburetor model

I didnt believe the carbs had a pump at all. But you could buy an inline pump that sucks from the tank and pushes fuel up to the carb. Im sure loe flow pumps are cheap

@@thousanddollarcarguy just came from the parts store, he said they should have a mechanical pump, might be on the side of the motor. On mine the hoses from the tank go to something that looks like a filter looking contraption next to the fill port. From there idk but I WILL figure this car out! Sat for 7+years with a problem with the fuel delivery system, cranked off of starter fluid other day though, so I'm still hopeful.

Mt 88 festiva has a mechanical fuel pump mounted near the carb. Replaced it and it cranked up!! Now I'm trying to figure out how to check the manual transmission fluid, hanes said to pull the speedo cable.

I replaced the fuseable links with a fuse block.

Good afternoon, I have three of these beauties, and one like this one with a bad fuel pump, but the pump is no longer available complete, do you know where I can get the whole assembly? the one I have was good but the connector corroded and is not available, so being inside the tank, needs to have a positive connection or I'll just blow myself up! thanks.

I usually get everything from rock auto. I hear that iran actually still produces every part of these cars. Not sure how well that helps but its a little bit of information. Also look into mazda 323.

Rock Auto only has the motor/ pump by itself and filter, but not the tower and complete assembly, we're lost.

I have a Ford festiva, engine light.does'n come on, tried almost everything it's been parked for.more than 3 years now , how can I tell it's gas pump? Or the gas pump relay is not working I bought a brand new battery last year.

You should be able to run 12v straight to the pump. This will tell you if the pump is good or not. If its been sitting for 3 years and hasnt had a full tank then its probably shot. Full tank theres a chance. Half full or empty its probably completely rusted

@@SwaggetiThe4th it should just pull off. Once you get the pump put it should come off with a bit of pulling.

Hi. It's me again, how can You drain out the Old gas from the tank

If theres no drain under the bottom side of the tank. Go to a local parts store and look for a siphon pump. Sucks the gas out with that and dispose of it properly.

You could have shown the fuel pump installation. I`m sure most people can remove the cover. I needed to see how the pump set in the assembly.

Alex i dunno if i can ever clean mosstiva. The moss both makes the car a living thing. As well as hold the rust together.
