I'm about to remove some 7 series electric/ heated seats to put in my Landrover Defender, really appreciate the video, I now know what tools to take with me, I've realised I also need to take a 12v battery pack to power the seats for access. Wouldn't have thought of that without your video, Thank you very much. Dave

ATTENTION : Do not unplug the electrical connector to the seat until you have disconnected the negative terminal of the battery for at least ten minutes. Otherwise you will get an airbag light when you start the car. It has to do with the seat pressure sensor that detects if the seat is occupied or not in a crash and to deploy the airbag. Passenger side in particular. Also the small Torx is a 30, not a 27.

How do you take out the seats if the motor is broken and unable to move them forward or backward?
@bimmermerchant6 жыл бұрын
very difficult to remove at that point. You would need to cut the vertical metal brackets.

How do you remove the seats from a 525i without power to the car? Im doing a restore project on a E34 1989 525i.
@bimmermerchant10 жыл бұрын
Great Question. You need to locate the seat motors that move the seat back wards and forward. Cut both wires,splice them and provide manual power. Search our videos and sear for "seat' we have a seat diagram that shows this process. Thanks

Are all the seats the same ... like can I use a 5 series seat in a 7 series

I came across a problem earlier this week. while vacuuming the driver side I pushed my seat all the way forward now I have no power completely to the seat or the steering wheel tilt options .. maybe a blown fuse? any ideas anyone?
@st8kout18 жыл бұрын
+Juan Valdez My first guess is a connector came off. A quick google found this: www.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?1810614-Problem-with-power-seat-and-adjustable-steering-wheel Bimmerforums.com is a great place to ask questions because there's usually someone else who has had the same exact problem and knows the fix.

Hi guys dose anyone know if I am able to get the comfort seats instead of the stock seats. I have 2007 525i. I want thicker and firmer seats instead. Anyone know if I can????
@bimmermerchant10 жыл бұрын
localpeople Most seats are interchangeable. As long as the connections are the same, you can install sport seats on bmw with comfort seats and vice versa.

Please clean your car. Your viewers would appreciate it and it makes you look better. Make a video on "How to clean and detail your car and keep it that way". Should be your next video. Now GO CLEAN THAT PIG PEN!! LOL Thanx for the info. PS--Don't take it the wrong way because your car is cleaner than some videos on KZbin. A clean car goes faster !!
@bimmermerchant10 жыл бұрын
Car Guy Thanks for pointing that out. Will take that in consideration. Spend time vacuuming and cleaning interior of car that is being stripped and on its way to metal recycler or focus on the DIY Process?
@krallopian9 жыл бұрын
bimmermerchant No, please clean the car, without a clean car viewers cannot follow along, especially a filthy car like this one! . . . . jeepers some people huh? Keep up the great work ;)
