I had to come back to this video and say OMG this shiz really works!! Back seat was damaged by 19 months of kids eating, drinking sodas, milk shakes, gum, chocolate, blood (nose bleeder), barfx5, dog hair, urine, poo etc. It was the worst! Professional interior guy was going to charge over $650 just to clean the back seat, never mind the head liner! This solution + 3 hours later with a shopvac and hot water bottle got the job done and it looks brand new!!

I used your formula on my daughter's filthy car interior with bad stains from makeup, food, and other unknown substances. It worked amazingly well and the seats are almost like new. I did use a shop vac, but modified the water application by using an inexpensive 1.5 gal. hand pump sprayer. I positioned the long pump nozzle just behind the shop vac's nozzle, then you just squeeze the trigger when you want water as you vac up the liquid by pulling all of them back. Worked like a charm, and was almost as easily as an extractor.

This is a better option, if the seats are in good shape, than $20 Walmart seat covers in the front and a bed sheet in the back. If any of the stains are ink, you want to make sure you get all of it sucked out. You can take a towel and press dry to make sure when wet, you will set lots of ink on the towel so use an old work one. Had to use full strength OXY on some really hard spots. Great mixture. Turned out great. Used the Hoover powerscrub50 hose attachment. Great video win as usual. Looks brand new.

Another way is to just remove the entire seat from the vehicle and pressure wash it with a pressure washer. I sprayed Shout-Auto-Carpet-Cleaning-Foam on my seats (no scrubbing needed) before I pressure washed them and everything came right out. My seats are 19 years old and were completely nasty. They look like brand new now. I let them dry in the hot sun and even put a shop fan on them.

Ether will remove stubborn oil stains like olive oil. Starting fluid is mostly ether. It comes in a spray can and is available wherever automotive supplies are sold. EXTREMELY FLAMABLE AND POSSIBLY EXPLOSIVE. Use in small amounts, outdoors, in well ventilated area and away from flames, sparks or any electrical switches that might be operated. That being said, I have used mixtures of rubbing alcohol, Dawn detergent and Shout and it works great, but sometimes does not get out all of the stain.

Just be careful and make sure all of the suds are extracted or it'll re-soil with a vengeance. Suds are designed to collect soil. If it does re-soil relatively quick, rinse again with only water and get a lot of air on it afterwards. If that foam in the seat stays wet, its going to get stinky.

Let me help you out with this thought my friend, 99.9% of DIYer's out there cannot remove their seats and the other problem with removing your seats is that most of the seat bolts are rusted then you will end up snapping them off and ending up with a whole boatload of issues. I'll bet you we can clean the carpeting and have it spotless and dry by the time you get one seat out, let alone putting them back in. Thanks for watching Jesse. mad Mike the hammer SPC

Nice job. I find that if you don't get all the soap residue out, the seat gets dirty really quick again as the soap attracts more dirt. I just tried it on my car's cloth upholstered seats. Worked great! I used the "green machine" as an extractor. I wonder if I put too much soap on, but even though I spray clear water on it and the soap doesn't show, and I extract it over and over, and few suds now come up into the machine, it still feels on top like it is soapy. Any ideas here? Will it hurt the foam cushion underneath to have a small amount of these soaps dry in it?

The drivers chair& passenger chair have like a white stain on, the interior is black, I have tried all the foam cleaners,to try and get the stain out, I even leave it a little extra time, to see if it would make a difference, when it*s a little damp, it looks black then eventually it comes back, it annoys me being that the car is 2014, it looks so terrible, the only option I have thought about is to see if shampooing it might make it look better.

My seats aren't stained, but the fabric is hard and matted. How would you clean fabric to make it soft again? It seems like the previous owner used dish soap to clean them.

Two questions. First, will this work on dirty leather seat? Second, most rubbing alcohol is about 75%. Where do you find the 99%? Is it available locally or do you need to find a janitorial supply?

After you say to put the alcohol in it , there seems to be a cut and then the alcohol bottle is sitting on the table and you're putting soothing else in the mix, and you sit it down in the upper left corner trying to be out of view? So it seems you put something else in besides the alcohol ?

I wish car manufacturers would make upholstery that unzips, toss in washing machine, etc. That doesn't figure into the built in obsolescence formula I guess.
@buckhorncortez5 жыл бұрын
Well, you've guessed wrong. It has to do with manufacturing processes versus less than 1% of the buyers who would actually take the cover off to wash it.
