Great video. If you don't have extractor's but you have a vice you can clamp the broken end in a vice and just twist the carburetor right off.

Great video. Anwsered all my questions. Mine was purchased in '98 and has set 10+ years. Cleaned carb just to see if still ran and started right up. Didn't know connector wasn't suppose to turn so of course it leaked when reinstalled and tested. Need to order kit and replace seals now that I know it works and is worth saving. Newer ones not built as heavy as this one and hated to junk it! Thanks again!!!

Very nice job on this video with information just about anyone will find helpful. Hard to believe that so many of these plastic fuel inlets crack, have also seen them melted right through from the muffler on riding mowers.

Good info. I ordered a replacement carb for a Tecumseh but this inlet was facing the wrong way. I saw a video that said not to turn them. I did anyway and it worked but now at least I know why. Also the replacement had a longer outlet and hit the back wall of the mower. (China knockoff carb but I wasn't going to spend a lot of money on an old crappy mower) It wouldn't bolt down until I added a spacer to the intake manifold. Pretty sloppy rigging but it worked. I need to go back in and make sure its not leaking and maybe replace it with the old outlet off the original carb. At least I know how to do it right now instead of guessing.

That looks almost to easy to do. A small engine guy up by me wouldn’t try and remove it. Was afraid of cracking the casing. Is there any chance of that cracking the carburetor?

@@EliminatorPerformance another question , will using that seal all cause problems down the road if you have to install another one? Or would it come off in the same manner? I have the part ordered , I'm going to attempt the job myself. I'll let you know how it works out.
@robertobrien40446 ай бұрын
I was a bit worried at first, thought it was just going to chew the brass piece apart. I used a manual impact to get it started and finished the rest with an air ratchet. Came out no issues.

For $10 or less you can slap a scamazon knock off carb and call it a day. No need for testing, replacing 90 degree inlet. Sell that customer a real snowblower.

Yes but the issue is, this 699103 OEM carburetor is discontinued by the manufacturer Briggs and Stratton. Which means only new old stock exists (expensive) or the Chinese knockoffs that are Nikki style (too many issues). I'd rather clean and rebuild this OEM carb for around $25 and give my customer a guarantee!
@notsure90793 жыл бұрын
@@EliminatorPerformance I was speaking in general. that $16 carb just popped up on search for that 90* fitting, NO idea what it fits. I have been buying the china carbs for years & they have always worked perfect. I like replacing them, rather then rebuilding. I'm in CA you can't get carb cleaner solution to take even paint off a carb soaking for a week ! let alone clean the carb at all. even out rat killer just feeds the rats doesn't kill them.........
