That’s the way to do it which is take a few mins to make sure it’s done right but it’s frowned upon

I just had a French door replaced and the threshold was about 2 inches shorter than the old one. The tried to fill it in with mortar AFTER installing the door because there was a big gap between the foundation and brick. I’m so frustrated. He says it’s fine but I don’t agree. It’s my back entry door. I sure wish I had someone like you around. Thanks for the video. It’s taught me a rough lesson. I think they just thought taking advantage of an older woman is ok

Good video so far. Would recommend adjusting that boot on the saw to prevent kickback and keep your head clear for safety. Also, goggles. Saw that you pointed drill toward you, probably a safer way to do that also. Really appreciate that you did a dry fit and did double and triple checks on spacing and shimming. DIY table saw is pretty slick!

Unable to buy an outswing door at Home Depot or Lowe's. Outswing door cost a premium and had to be custom ordered even though a standard size of 36" X 80".

That door is made to be an outswing door and they have solid hinge pins in other words you cannot remove them for the very reason you asked about
