Here are some "poor man's lab" ideas for you-- 1. use flexible LED desk lamps 2. buy the cheapest pair of polarized glasses you can, and tape them over the objective lens of the microscope you're using. Polarized light can obtain the same glare-reducing effect as oblique lighting. (If you're using a stereoscope where the light from the surface is going from the workpiece into your eyes, not from the workpiece into a camera, then into a screen, you could try wearing polarized glasses when you look through the scope). 3. If you need diffuse lighting, use tape and printer paper to make reflectors. One example would be to make a kind of wall around the microscope stage, then use your external lighting on the outside of the paper. This will give you diffuse lighting. None of these options are going to give you the best results like you'd get with tools designed for the task like what Northridge is selling here. But if business is hard, every dollar counts! I'd discourage you from taking this kind of bootleg approach to cost reduction when it comes to your consumables (flux & solder) and measurement tools (e.g. multimeter). GL

After one year of using this kind of microscope and camera I discovered that this kind of work is an art by basicly playing with light to ajust the proper image quality. I am also using both ring and gooseneck light. Also I figured out that better results are when using them both with high quality polarizing filter. Image is then super bright and without reflections.

By pulling on the component before solder melts. But nec tokin are different story its almost impossible to melt the solder to get them off as 1 piece, it can be done but you need very good tools. The easy way is you rip them off piece by piece. Just look up replacing nec token on PS3 watch a few vids before you do it and choose the method you are comfortable with. Hi guys.I have a question.How can I test if DVI port from monitor is working?With multimeter.I bought already 2 cables and I think that the monitor port is bad not the one from video card
@Dandan-tg6tj2 жыл бұрын
You don't even need a multimeter for that. You use a second monitor. If you have an image on a known to function monitor then your problem is indeed either on the DVI port of the monitor or in your monitor's board. If you don't have an image on the second monitor just like on your own monitor, then the fault might be in the port of the video card. Remember this: whatever you may think is bad, may be totally wrong and it might set you on a wrong path. Things are not as simple as you think www.networktechinc.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/DVI-connectors-type.jpg In reality, the ports all look the same or almost the same but they are very different.
@Mueller3D2 жыл бұрын
Keep in mind that a DVI port has two ports combined into one: It has analog pins and digital pins. Your source, cable, and monitor, all need to match regarding whether it's using analog or digital.

@@NorthridgeFix You may have not the time to train someone but you probably will have to, at some point. Whoever is qualified at your level already has a working place (own repair business or employed). If you think of it, you already train others by doing all these KZbin clips. You only need someone who is qualified enough to be able to learn from you only by having donor boards to practice on them, asking you questions or just by watching and listening to you when you explain things then practice again what they learned and, of course, learning from their own mistakes. I believe it is easier than you think to train someone. You only need to find the right person.

The type of light is also important. You didn't know this but now you do. Sometimes people who don't actually know think they know just because they don't know how much they don't know. The angle is important and the wavelength(s) is also important. The intensity of light is also very important.
