This reminds me of my old Sear's mower. I loved the old pins. easy to get on and off, and tough. Great video Mr. Johnson.

That is a great looking Lt mower for the age of it being in the early 2000s

Have you bought seal kit and install on hydrodrive transaxle on craftsman 20hp
@JohnsonsSmallEnginesАй бұрын
I have not and most likely will not. It is not cost effective to rebuild a hydro transmission for a customer verses replacement.

Hi My Friend , Just started repairing and selling used push & Self Propelled mowers as a side gig for the last 2 years and find more people that cant find Repair Shops that can take there mower and get it back to them quickly !!!! I can get it repaired and back to customer if i have parts 2-3 days which they love !!!! I just got a trailer and how is it repairing riders and zero turns ? How should i approach this and what can i charge for pick up & Delivery or per hour ? I live in Massachusetts and cant wait till Spring !!!! You are a Inspiration !!! Keep the great Video's Coming .. God Bless and Happy New year with all the Best !!! Joe

Good luck in your business venture. I hope you do well. That being said, if you perform good quality work, you don’t necessarily have to get it back so quickly because if you do great work, your customers will come back. I would suggest for pricing call up a few of your local lawn and garden shops and get their hourly rate and also their pick up and delivery fees per mileage to help you compete with the the locals shops. Just remembered, do not low price yourself, or you will not be in business very long.

Those machines will last for many years if treated right. That one looks in good shape.

Very thorough but I have a 38in deck on my 2003 LT1000 and it seems as though that was a rare setup because I can’t find any videos that aren’t 42in decks.. which are definitely a different setup 😞 I’m stumped!
@JohnsonsSmallEngines4 ай бұрын
What is the model number on the sticker underneath the seat? I will do a little research and see what I can come up with to get you a video. Do you need one just for taking the mower deck off?
@morrighankrow51134 ай бұрын
@@JohnsonsSmallEngines thank you for the reply though I didn’t see it until just now lol I ended up figuring where the bigger parts went off the 42 deck videos YT is abundant with, and a little base mechanical knowledge to fill in the blanks. I got mine for free and the deck was completely disassembled.. I now know more about the deck of this little mower than the Gravely ZT I’ve owned since 2018 🤣 it’s mowing like a champ, too.

@@JohnsonsSmallEngines the Nikki carb float valve went bad shortly after I got the deck functional, so now I’m overly familiar with that as well, but only $50 in and it’s already an awesome addition. I’m calling it a win lol

Hi, which of the springs is the tension spring
@JohnsonsSmallEngines7 ай бұрын
The cable that attaches to your mower deck is the blade engagement cable that puts tension on the blade belt when it’s in the engaged position.

I hit a stump and bent the blade downwards, She needs a new blade.

Made by MTA.

I think you mean MTD and this mower back when it was made was made by American Yard Products.

@JohnsonsSmallEngines yes forgot the D, I had a poular 42-in, 17.5 Briggs, for around 13 years, really did cut good, I have a acre of old farmland but it started to burn oil. Bought a new S100 JD last summer, just 4 hours and the hydrostatic belt broke. The front guides were not lined up at the factory, thanks

You need a John Deere X300 series! The S100 series in my opinion have cheaper components then your older Craftsman. It is unfortunate the way the craftsmanship of lawn equipment has gone throughout the years.
