Excellent recommendation, sir. I was having a difficult and frustrating time TRYING to remove the sensor filter. I went to my wood shop, grabbed a 4"x1/4" 14mm lag screw and TA DA! Out came the filter. THIS WILL NOW STAY IN MY TOOL CHEST! Thank you sir!

I'm going to try that! I took off my switch and I couldn't see or get the screen out! Quite frankly, I bought the denali used so I wonder if it even has a screen, but I'm going to try this! Thanks!

Great Video, I found this video for my hubby who put in a new sensor but had a hard time getting the screen out. So he left the old screen in, the next day the pressure gauge fell to Cold after driving for a half hour so he figured it’s because of the old screen. So tomorrow he is going to replace the screen using your method. Will there be any problem because of the delayment in putting in the screen AFTER putting in a new sensor?
@autorepairchamps2 жыл бұрын
No, should be just fine to get the screen replaced. It is important to replace the screen as sometimes it can get clogged up. Also, if you still have low oil pressure after replacing the sensor . your gonna want to look at the oil pump next .

I have a 2015 chevy express 2500. no oil pressure. changed this out but it didn't seem to have a screen, there was a brass colored part where the screen would be. is that normal? no screen or what?
@armandoanaya3140 Жыл бұрын
Same problem here, did you find a solition?
@carcasscruncher9354 Жыл бұрын
@@armandoanaya3140 yeah, I changed the oil pressure sender sensor out. Was probably gummed up with old oil. Just change my oil out before the sensor gets that signal. Usually no less than 10% oil life left. I try to change it out now around 15%. Sometimes add a little fresh oil since Chevy is known for burning it. Havent had a problem since. You might get by just changing oil out. But if you still have light on change that oil pressure sender switch nonsense. Edit note: if you just change the oil to an A.P.I. synthetic. The light might go away. Did this with a durango about 3 times and no problem. That oil pressure sender switch is stupid. To get to it, it isnt like the older vand you can just pop the dog house off. You actually have to tear the entire dash apart. My suggestion is just change the oil and drive, and that light should turn off.

Maybe it was replaced once before and a screen was never installed .I am not 100% positive but maybe certain models didn't come with a screen. I am not sure thought . Easy way to find out is check with your dealer or your auto parts store and see if the sensor comes with a filter or a standalone .

I am not sure if the 2017 Model have the screen or not , best way is to contact your dealer get the oil pressure sensor from them and see if it does come with . you can always ask their parts department if the make and model you have has a screen or not , if it does you will need to use the method I covered in the video to remove the screen .
